    @ujang_je
    It would be safest to try using your original SG/MY boot.bin combined with the fw_all.bin from US/EU x2 fw. You should then be able to safely flash back to full SG/MY. Don't forget to do HWID overrides to 1509 before you save the rgn.

    If you are feeling courageous, flash the full US/EU fw with original HWID 1613 saved as OUT.rgn but be aware it may brick your Asian unit. Perhaps someone else has already tried US/EU on an Asian 50 and can advise further.

    It's mentioned twice in Post #1 that the most essential backup of all, NV, be done. My experience with newer users is that it's more likely overlooked than done, and inexperienced ppl are more likely to do a files backup only in spite of being warned about nv. A pity, 'cos a lot of seriously bricked units could be easily revived for the sake of spending a few minutes backing up nonvolatile memory.
    Can't be said too many times, and thanks for the reminder putipu.

    Successfully converter Nuvi 50 (Australian Edition, with original boot and fw_all) to Nuvi 52 using US/EU image. NV was cleared, gu_update.gcd deleted and image flashed straight on. No dramas.

    I bought a 3790T from the US and want to use the JCV here in the Philippines but as we all know that is not possible unless I cross-flash a PH fw compatible with this device. Now how will I know if I can do that? How do I determine the HWID of my device?

    Open garmindevice.xml and you will see beside Model your HWID number.

    This is what I see: <Model><PartNumber>006-B1101-00</PartNumber><SoftwareVersion>

    Does that mean my HWID is 1101?
