You are unlikely to brick it if you're using the original boot.bin. However, it won't flash GCD files anymore. You need to make your device enter the mass storage mode and delete that faulty GUPDATE.GCD Try using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] with the original GUPDATE.GCD.

For JCV you must create folder JCV in .System folder or in Garmin folder and add .jcv file inside. ( example: .System/JCV/ your jcv file )

Change your original gupdate.gcd to 108301000620.rgn and flash in pre boot if updater write that no new update available then just rename 108301000620.rgn to 097201000620.rgn

    p.s.
I think that JCV will only work if we have original logo from dnx and then changed number to D1340-50, but maybe i am wrong.

I test it this evening when i'll came back home.
So for now the test are stopping .
Do you have any idea why the firmware of the nuvi is stopping during the loading ?
I hope to see you tomorrow

I think you've messed something with GCD file. GCD files are often tricky. If I were you I would flash the test firmware with RGN file. I hope you know how to enter pre-boot mode and it's still working.

I hope because I never tested the pre-boot mode of my unit .
    So I don't know if I can .
    I explain my work
I open with rgn_tool the firmware of the nuvi
    then change the boot.bin
then change the hwid to 1083
then change the firmware version to 2.53 ..... the original was 2.50
    so create the GUPDATE.GCD

This evening I test to send my original firmware with updater
If is ok I test late the modified firmware with updater

Is good work ? May be yes ....

On normal nuvi 1xxx is uper left corner of screen and you must have installed garmin usb drivers.
DNX7 have mini usb on back of car radio where you can conect pc and dnx and you have access to internal storage.

People say that in order to enter the pre-boot mode on this device you have to press and hold FUNCTION and EJECT buttons, then connect the device to the PC, and then reboot it with RESET button.

bad news .... the system is bricked .
When turn on the system the gps arrive with splash screen "GARMIN" on the screen
but I don't go to pre-boot mode and I can't have connection on the usb
The system above for my equipment is for pre-boot for radio system.
I tested in order to put on sd GUPDATE:GCD and update xrgn to reload my backup
    Any idea ?

Assuming that you've used the right boot.bin, GARMIN screen means that the bootloader is sill working, and the pre-boot mode should be still available. The only problem is that we don't know how to enter it.

Do I understand you correctly that FUNCTION + EJECT puts the radio system into pre-boot mode?

GUPDATE.GCD update and update.txt execution are initiated by the firmware, which is not working right. So both ways are not going to work.

So, you should find a way to enter pre-boot mode. You could do some googling, or pressing other button combinations (like all combinations of 2 buttons, 3 buttons, etc).
Also make sure USB drivers are installed on your PC (but as I understand, you've already updated this device through USB, when it was showing "SYSTEM SOFTWARE MISSING", so they are already installed).

Alexander2010 says that you can't put it into pre-boot mode by pressing buttons on the front panel, and instead you need to disassemble it and connect some pins on the motherboard.
So if you can't find another way to enter pre-boot mode, then the only way is to disassemble the navi module. If you send here a photo of the motherboard, Alexander2010 will tell you what pins to connect exactly.

    UPD:
Also I want to explain why pre-boot mode was available when "SYSTEM SOFTWARE MISSING" was show on the screen. It's because the bootloader enters pre-boot mode automatically when the firmware is wrong. In your case the firmware has had wrong loading address and due to this HWID test failed.
