I dont expect it depends on firmware, I always had a good accuracy
see [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
one year ago I wasnt using 4.90 to convert
-
Same here, i've converted and reconverted so many times. No sure what version i had for the initial conversion but it certainly wasn't 4.90, maybe 4.70 then maybe 4.80. Accuracy the same as far as i'm aware.
PS: Happy to downgrade the Virgin 3790 to whatever fw you'd like Loly, and then convert. Currently running 5.00.

Hello,
Exactly, I agree with you.
Guys, look my sattelite page:

All the time my signal looks worse just running slowly. This was my better accuracy today.
The image above I was stopped with sky clear and no clouds.
PS: I was using your GPS files @lolypop000. So looks me worse than the other GPS files that @catymag share with us.
PS2: I will flash again the original 37XX firmware just to compare the satellite page.

Hello,
Look the image below:

Just flashed back the original 37XX firmware.
When I did that screenshot, I was moving during a big thunderstorm and a lot of trees between me and the sky.
So comparing the accuracy, the diference is so big! Same day, same places, just diferent firmwares.
Now the signal have a lot of power....:snack:

This is how it should be !
Try to flash 3490 Version 3.6 to check accuracy on a much older version.
If it's good on 3.6 then try to 7.1 then to 7.5 then to 7.6
I have a feeling that 3.6 is using different GPS Firmware because it creates different files in GPS folder.

That i try to ask Caty and Neil what version FW of 34xx they use for convert to 34xx.
On my friend nuvi who have 3m accuracy i flash version 3.50 FW for 34xx
With this i convert friend nuvi to 34xx:
p.s.
I search in FW for numbers and found out that 34xx FW 3.50, 3.60 have this number :MNL_VER_11061401GRMN01
but 34xx FW 2.60 have this: MNL_VER_11012101GRMN01
And 34xx FW 7.60 have this:MNL_VER_11072801GRMN01
