Smile flashing 3750 Us to asia 3790 alarm problem

    Hello all,
Bought a nuvi 3750 us version ( software 5 and firmware 2.60). After reading many threads ( particularly enable 3790 features on 3750) I downloaded asian firmware Nuvi3790 and Nuvi3750_CHN_V270, RGN tool ( thanks turbocc) and flashing with the following changes:

    1- boot.bin (us ) + fw1 (CHN)+ fw_all ( CHN with HWID= 1101 , SW=2.70)
    2-boot.bin (us)+fw_all (CHN with HWID=1101 , sw=2.70) +fw1(CHN)
    3-boot.bin(us)+fw_all (CHN with HWID=1101, sw=500) +fw1(CHN)
    4-boot.bin (CHN)+fw1(CHN)+fw_all(CHN)

Regardless if I use Nuvi3790 or Nuvi3750_CHN_V270 or even Nuvi3790_SG_320 , after successful flashing , I always get the alarm to pop-up blocking the maps to loads and the screen unresponsive. It will take about 5-10mins for the alarm to stop and be able to shut down the device.
Sometimes after rebooting the maps could load normally and I could get : media player, 3D, go to office, search by telephone, exit, etc.
What am I doing wrong for the alarm to always pop up at the startup? And how to stop it ?.
I have search the forum but seems no one had similar problem.
In advance thank you for your help.
    Camissa

    Hello again,
I have tried different combinations while the boot.us is the original. As I am always getting the alarm screen at startup I suppose the problem should with the boot.us or with the device itself or its content ( which file to delete or rename?).
I should add that 2 out of 10 times the device could boot normally and load the maps. At that time I could get all the modifications.
Does anyone knows how to edit this file and which area /code? I would appreciate any idea or direction

    Thanks for taking the time

I am not spaming but I do really need help and would greatly appreciate any guidance. When I flash back to original US firmware everything is normal but any modification gives the alarm pop up when powering on the device.
    Seniors........any idea?

Thanks catymag for moving the post to the correct section

What do you have in about? Can you see device id ? Is GarminDevice.xml normal? Compare it to your backupped one.
Have you done NV backup before playing with those flashes ?

Thanks. Yes can see device ID when connected. Unfortunately I did the backup after starting to have problem. But I will reflash back to the original US as this boots normal and compare the GarminDevice.xml . How should I know that the file is normal?

Once again thank you for the direction.

I was just wondering if you havent lost your device ID in NV coz you get the locked maps warning.
Check in GarminDevice.xlm if these infos(here XXXX) are present:

    -<Model><PartNumber>010-00XXX-XX</PartNumber><SoftwareVersion>XXX</SoftwareVersion><Description>nüvi XXXX</Description></Model><Id>XXXXXXXXXX</Id><RegistrationCode>XXXXXXX</RegistrationCode>-<Unlock>

PS: dont post them on forum if you have them ok

Thanks. Yes I can see device ID , nuvi 3750, registration code XXXxx unlock
I reflash back to the original US as this boots normal and compare the GarminDevice.xml . Using Ultracompare shows that the two files are identical.
I reflash back the Nuvi37XX_CHN_2.2 again to compare. So far I didn"t manage to boot
Once again thank you for the direction.

Nice, you havent damaged your region 41.
I dont understand what is your goal in flashing China firmware, if you want 37xx additional features why dont you flash it to 34xx?
Easy, simple, fast and riskless, many users are using it since a lot without any problems.

I wanted to flash asian firmware for 3D , calendar and media player.
You are right , following the instructions in the provided link , I managed to flash to 34xx without any problem so far. Right now playing around.
In the instruction I don't unsderstand the following:
To get all the available features you must copy these *.xml files in attachment in /Garmin
    (example /Garmin/DeviceConfig_MP3_Enabled.xml)
NOTE on 1-8-2012: We realized that ,since sw 7.10 ,cant enable or disable features anymore.
To do it , must go back to older firmwares-

Which *.xml files? and where to get them?
    Once again thank you.

All the files are attached , but as written, this mode isnt anymore available since sw 7.10 , use the files for sd at the bottom of the post
and read with care instructions .
