Effectively, my device is an EU 3790T, and I wish to have no problems doing the backup or restore, if necessary. .........
Even if garmin does remove the region write function in other fw's as they did with 3560 SG, it should be still possible to similarly use a previous version fw's boot.bin as ldr.bin to execute the rrgn command and back up NV.
Thank goodness for Loly and kunix!

1-Create a "Garmin" folder in an empty sd.
2-In Garmin directory create a directory named "Updater".
3-In Updater create a directory named as your nuvi HWID number, it must be 4 digits eg: 0971
4-In the above folder copy Ldr.bin . What is Ldr.bin? It is your firmware boot.bin you can extract with RGN_tool
My Garmin unit is Nuvi 255W and Nuvi 2465,so i cant find ( Ldr.bin ) file, can you help me where to find this file inside my Garmin Internal Memory?

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.

TQ for all helper here,i'ved done backup my Region 41 with below procedure
Spoiler: CLICK
PROCEDURE:
===============================================================================================
1- Create a "Garmin" folder in an empty sd.
2- In Garmin directory create a directory named "Updater".
3- In " Updater " create a directory named as your nuvi HWID number, it must be 4 digits eg: 0971 ( this HWID can be get by using RGN tool to read the HWID )
4- You can get this RGN Tool from here - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
5.- Support page for this tool HERE - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
6.- Find ( GUPDATE.GCD ) file,in my case - Nuvi 2465 - it was at M:\.System
7.- RUN RGN Tool V0.78,drag and drop GUPDATE.GCD file into RGN tool,RGN tool will automatically run, there you can find your HWID
8.- Focus at the boot.bin section, and there is will be SAVE button beside SW version
9.- Click " SAVE " and it will save as " boot.bin "
10.-Open the folder where you save the file " boot.bin " was and rename it to " Ldr.bin " ( without quotation )
11.-Copy " Ldr.bin " file into the folder you'ved create first as above .
12.-Example to " M:\ Garmin \ Updater \ XXXX ( XXXX - stand for your HWID folder thats you create before as step # 03 )
13.-Create a notepad file and rename it to " update.exe "
14.-In notepad type the command like below
rrgn,41,1:/41.bin
reboot
15.You can copy and paste this command in your notepad for easy process
16-Insert the sd in your nuvi, you'll see at boot a software loading message and nuvi will write your NV backup in sd, let it reboot, shut it down, remove the sd and keep
your Nuvi NV backup in a safe place. The succeed process sholud be like below picture
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
But in my case, backing up Nuvi 2465 the succeed bin file just named as "41.bin ",it doesnt matter, you can check either the process successfull or not by step below.
17.- X:\ Garmin \ Updater \ XXXX \ update.log ,the content should stated like below Parsing "rrgn,41,1:/41.bin"
Success
Parsing "reboot"
15.To restore it replace command in notepad with:
xrgn,41,1:/41.bin
reboot
16.As i understood,to "RESTORE " procedure, placed the backup 41 file in the XXXX folder along with the command code as above in " update.txt " to restore it,am i right?
You can name the actual bin file anything you like in the txt file within reason with '.bin' extension, and 'xrgn' is the correct command in point 15 to write back [restore] rgn41, provided of course the correctly named file is invoked whether that be 41.bin or backup_41.bin or any other name with the correct path for it's location, e.g. xrgn,41,1:/original_41.bin for instance.
The file used to write back is usually placed in the root of the card for convenience NOT in the xxxx [hwid] folder, so taking your example in point 16 the command in 15 wouldn't work because the file needs to be in the root for it to be executed.

Currently I am in the process of backing up rgn 41 on all my nüvi units. Successful so far on all 2xx and 14xx units. Now I've come to the nüvi 2545. I've got the correct Ldr.bin file inside the X:\Garmin\Updater\1371 folder. However, when switching on the unit, it hangs on the Garmin splash screen with the text "Loading Maps" at the bottom of the screen. It stays there until I manually switch off the unit (or until the battery runs flat). No 41.bin file in the root of the microSD and no update.log file in the \1371 folder.
Few other topic related questions:
1. Can a backup of rgn41 be made on hand held Garmin units as well, eg Oregon, Montana, Dakota, Edge, GPSmap, etc?
2. Is there a list of rgn numbers and their purpose? In this thread focus is on rgn41. What are other regions used for and why not back them up?
You don't need other regions only 41 is important.
16 is logo, 5 and 12 is boot.bin that you find in gcd file in new nuvi 140 is for enable feature, so only region that you need if something go wrong in your nuvi is region 41.
