Default Kenwood DNX 7240BT and LOADER LOADING problem.

    Hi you guys.
I'm owner the Kenwood unit DNX7240BT with Garmin Navi board inside. After failed firmware update, the NAVI still show "LOADER LOADING..." on the display.
Unit firmware is the latest - 1.9.0
NAVI firmware - 2.20, the latest is 3.5.0 but i can't program it.
I tried GarminCure software - no success.
Updater.exe with rgn file after conversion from gcd, no luck.
The main problem is USB connection I think. When I Swich ON the unit, USB connection is established only for few second and next disappear.
What can be done, to fix the unit. My ideas are over... I will be thankful for every help from Your side.

Follow with care instructions to get preboot and use updater.exe

I didn't understand, if you finally succeeded in updating Garmin firmware. GarminCure3 won't magically help you do that.
Also firmware versions you've given are strange.
This looks like the Garmin software for your unit.

The latest Garmin firmware version there is 3.50.

Add on SD card in folder Garmin gupdate.gcd and add SD in DNX7240BT.
Turn on radio and run navigation.
If you dont have SD slot then add gupdate.gcd on CD and burn in low speed and finalize CD (no multisesion)

I try explain one more time.
    1. Garmin update firmware from 2.20 to 3.50 failed. After that i have LOADER LOADING.
    2. Kenwood DNX is a multimedia station and have your own firmware. Now 1.9.0
    3. Inside Kenwood is mounted navi board from Garmin. Below are the pictures.
    4. DNX 7240BT have no SD card slot. When try update firmware from CD I got READ ERROR. I burned a few CD's and DVD's and always READ ERROR.
It's worth mention, main firmware DNX multimedia station I upgraded from DVD. No errors. From 1.2.0 to 1.9.0, so therefore I exclude the possibility that the wrong DVD or CD was burned.

    From site/manual Kenwood:

    8) If you receive the message "DISC ERROR" means that the unit has attempted to read the disc for playback. In this case you need to go to the navigation screen and follow the prompts on the screen. DO NOT TURN OFF THE APPLIANCE during the upgrade
DVD with folder garmin\gupdate.gcd (comply with the syntax)

You may also try the WEB UPDATER with the PC and the USB cable back

    Bye,bye

    @roger1109
Yes, You right. Exactly the same situation I had, when upgraded multimedia unit part. But in this case, when I go to the NAVI screen I have only LOADER LOADING - absolutely no upgrade firmware message. Upgrade DVD or CD was prepared in accordance with the guidelines on the Garmin website. (garmin\gupdate.gcd) No luck.
WEB UPDATER is no correct way in my case I think. USB connection is established only for few second and next disappear. For this reason is impossible to maintain connection with WEB UPDATER.

Ok ... but the Kenwood writes garmin\gupdate.gcd

    Try also so

And it can take many minutes Loading/Loader ....

    And Web Updater?

    Bye,bye

I think that, when updating with CD, GUPDATE.GCD is copied to the internal flash drive of the Garmin device, and then GUPDATE.GCD is loaded by the Garmin firmware. Now it totally looks like something went wrong and GUPDATE.GCD is still there, making the Garmin firmware hang. Therefore, I think, you won't be able to update with GUPDATE.GCD until you cure the device.
To cure the device you need to enter the pre-boot mode (beware that it may be called in a different way, "service mode", etc) and proceed as GarminCure3 manual suggests and delete GUPDATE.GCD.
I don't know how to put your device into pre-boot mode, but maybe I'll ask one clever man tomorrow.

    UPD:
roger1109 is right, firmware update is a lengthy process sometimes. So try waiting longer.

    @kunix
Super correct thinking. In my opinion this is the main bug - old gupdate.gcd file. As long as it will be in the device, we can do nothing. The question is: how to maintain connection via USB port. I only want to refresh - after turning on the unit, we have connection with USB port by only 7 - 8 second.
