    Thanks Loly, info link to your post added to initial post.

    Generic instructions and templates for SD/microSD flash if your unit has 'rrgn' and 'xrgn' commands in firmware. This method will save a copy of your current region 16 to the card as '16_backup.bin' then write the new logo [16.bin] to the device's region 16. Two templates are supplied, use 'to 1' template if you have an older [other than nuvi3x0/6x0] device without hidden partition RWFS and MTP [Media Transfer Protocol]. Use 'to 2' template if it's 3/6x0 or a later unit [generally most 2012/2013> automotive devices have MTP]. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Using 'to 1' in an MTP device will result in the device writing to and trying to copy from from it's hidden RWFS partition so don't use it for them, only use 'to 2'. Using 'to 2' in a non-MTP device will do nothing in an older device unless it's a nuvi 3x0/6x0 which have the card path as 2:/ even though they aren't MTP devices. Other nuvi series 2xx[W], 7xx, 1xxx etc and StreetPilot c5x0 all use 1:/ for the media card.

    1. Extract either 'NV rgn16 dump&write Template - to 1.rar' or 'NV rgn16 dump&write Template - to 2.rar' to a CLEAN microSD or SD card to suit your device.
    2. In the root of the card [alongside, not in, the Garmin folder, place your intended logo bin file named only as '16.bin' [without the quotes].
    3. Rename Garmin\Updater\xxxx folder as your unit's 4-numeral HWID. e.g. for a nuvi 34x0 US/EU rename xxxx to 1376. See here for more info: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
    4. Obtain your device's boot.bin from it's correct firmware using RGN_Tool as shown in Post #12 of this thread, rename it 'Ldr.bin' [no quotes] and place it in the HWID folder alongside 'Update.txt' file. e.g. continuing with nuvi 34x0: Garmin\Updater\1376\Ldr.bin.
    5. Ensure your device is fully OFF, insert the card and turn it on [if battery is not well-charged, connect to a charging source not PC USB port and it will turn itself on].
    6. 'Loader' should appear on the screen then it will reboot once it's finishing copying and flashing and you should see your 'new' start-up logo.

    CAUTION: Only flash a modified logo bin or one from a different unit if you know exactly what you are doing. Be particularly cautious that you are using the CORRECT Ldr.bin for YOUR device with proper HWID, more info: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Many older units cannot be flashed from SD as the commands 'rrgn' and 'xrgn' do not exist in firmware. Some such as SP c3x0, 26x0, 27x0 and earlier devices which don't have a visible files system ['region-only' units] can have the logo screen changed by other methods including the universal RGN method to flash a logo bin file to region 16 [hex 10] detailed in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Seek advice by posting in here if unsure of your unit's capability. BEWARE: If you use the wrong boot.bin / Ldr.bin you will likely 'hard-brick' your unit! Ask first if unsure.

    @raduradu
    24xx is referring only to 24x0 series, not any of the later 24/25x5/7/8/9 which are quite different unit series and don't use the same logo as 24xx [24x0]. 2xxx generically is understood as referring to 22x0, 23x0 & 24x0 only. This is the same referencing as used by Garmin earlier, where 2xx/2xxW is meaning only 2x0/2x0W and not including 2x5/2x5W too generally. Many logo files are the same in related model series unsurprisingly but are even shared between series in some instances. We'd expect that nuvi 2xx5 and some 2xx7 may well use the same file for example and so they do in fact just as you've noted for 2455 and 2597, however nuvi 150 has the same logo as them too.

    @lohtse
    In the initial post there are links to posts 12 & 91 showing the 2 different methods to copy and flash region 16 (which contains the logo/splash image). Use GIR_Editor to change the image ensuring it is the same picture size as the existing one. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. You can use the instructions adapted for your use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], keeping in mind that it's referring specifically to nuvi 37xx series although the steps are similar for all devices with region 16.

    I am also having similar issue. The BMP logo images load OK, I can extract and insert into GCD and never changes quality, yet on the GPSr the logo is all wrong.

    I even extracted a logo from a properly working GCD with RGN, then used GIR to load that image to another GCD, and when that GCD is loaded, the GPSr image is not correct.

    What are we missing?

    EDIT: To try and be more clear, changing boot.bin logo using GIR and RGN always results in the correct image on the device, however the quality is greatly diminished, and the color palette is completely wrong, even when using unedited images extracted from firmwares that do not exhibit this behavior (same image displays properly when loaded with that GCD or RGN). Thus, something is wrong with either GIR (v58), RGN (v94), or both.
