Giomen, very useful your intervention, however i reiterate that the 006B048201.bin firmware is of the GTM25. As I said, there are two variants of GTM25 (see screenshots) with different firmwares, where a fw does not support the firmware of another. One has Product ID 482 and other Product ID 901. Considering how reliable your information, which seems to be, we can say that one of these GTM25 is Generation 2 and the other Generation 3. Are different, by source firmwares, as indicated by the garmin's website which has separate specifics files: FirmwareUpdateforGTMxxTrafficReceiverType3_290.gcd (ID 901) and FirmwareUpdateforGTMxxTrafficReceiver_550.rgn (ID 482 and ?). The 006B048201.bin firmware I used for GTM25 ID 482 (generation 2) and 006B090100.GCD fw for the GTM 25 ID 901 (generation 3).Quote:

If you check both firmware with a hex editor, you'll notice the correspondence to each specific model. For example, the 006B048201.bin have the same SYS Ver 550 of the GTM25 ID482 (see screenshots). The question of the generation is also confirmed by the hex editor, which indicates GTMxx G3 in the fw of GTM25 ID 901.
In short, the 006B048201.bin is firmware of the GTM 25 ID 482, as seen from the screenshots and analyze of the hex editor, and should be, according to his information,
also firmware of GTMs 10/12 (generation 1) and 20/21 (Generation 2), ie, a upgrade firmware that covers an entire family of TMC receivers, something to confirm..
P.S.: is also very likely that files like 006B048201.bin are generic files names and of distinctive content that are read by the operating system to update of different GTM receivers, in the same way that the gupdate.gcd serve as a vehicle for updating firmware for different GPS's models.

I did not go into the details as usual :)
But first version of 006B090100.GCD was announced by Garmin as patch to 006B048201.bin SW and not as FirmwareUpdateforGTMxxTrafficReceiverType3:
Also I put another loophole old classic TMC for all FM radio and in my heart I do believe that 006B048201.bin use all receivers for old broadcasting format likes in my car radio in old Jeep.Code:http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId=%7Be78504d0-28aa-11df-e1e7-000000000000%7D
With FW 7.20 on nuvi 3490 TMC and GTM36 still wont work.
They repair int now find correct number but still cant find (lock) sid number.
Hi all, I have a nuvi 2495lmt, and I followed the guide written in this thread. I applied the "24x5 & 25x5 series" patch without any problem, a lot of features were enabled, but the traffic cable is not detected anymore. It's plugged in but the nuvi says to plug in the cable. (Before the procedure everything was working fine). I have fw 7.20, european nuvi (I'm from italy).
thanks
PS I'm searching on the forum for an answer, so sorry if this question was already posted.
@alphaxeon-
I moved your post in this thread, others had the same problem .
thanks, I've read about this matter and actually I don't have a gtm26. In the box with the 2495lmt there is a gtm25, which someone wrote on some forum that shouldn't be even detected by the 2495 because too old I think. Mine was working until the patch. Maybe I should try a gtm26 and see if it can work.
@alphaxeon
Maybe it is regional and depends on the traffic provider whether 2xxx works with GTM25. Here in AU for instance, GTM25 & GTM35 both fine with my 265W, 1300, 1390, 2350 (ok, i know 64mb ram, my shame but it was cheap) and also 3790. No apparent difference in the usage/service.
just to summarize, if after the modification the gtm doesn't work anymore, there is no way to undo the mod, based on what I've read in this thread. So the only solution is to wait for a fw update from garmin?
If you create backup of your region 140 you can try add back your region and see if GTM25 work.
Look in hidden menu over battery icon if you have FML number.
You can also reset FM table.
