I read through but am confused as to why there are locked and unlocked versions of maps. The link sounded like you will want to unlock the map that is downloaded, but why not just d/l an unlocked map. Is there a reason to use a locked map?
@ ludespeedny
.......and for JCV file, use D3060080A.JCV (full screen)
Folder nav\System\JCV\D3060080A.JCV or SD\Garmin\JCV\D3060080A.JCV ;)
Map and file JCV...STOP.
Bye,bye
IMHO yes ,coz I like to unlock the way I prefer and depends on Maps and Map FID, depends on device and its firmware, so we prefer users post locked original maps.

Unlocking an .img takes few milliseconds ;)
If I understand correctly jcv is junction view which is the same as lane guidance for the TomTom correct?
Umhh...TT? brrr....;)Quote:

so the map and jcv file are too big for my device, any suggestion of map and jcv file that would work, or should I plan on getting a sd card?
My opinion.... Don't even bother with the "smaller map" solution as you'll be wrestling a spacee issues with every update.Quote:

I say... get yourself a 4 or 8gig cheaP SD or MicroSD and set it up as follows and do future updates the same way and your space problems will be solved.
sd:\Garmin\JCV\DxxxxxxA.JCV JCV that matches your map version
sd:\Map\gmapsupp.img get an UNLOCKED map
All will work for you and you will not have to touch the GPS again.
If you put a map update on SD make sure you disable the original maps in the GPS because if you have 2 versions of any maps that have overlaping geographical areas at the same time, they will not work correctly in the GPS.
6 dollars for 4 gb sd, buy it and you wont have problems in the future with updates ;)
