Actually his problem was a black screen not a bootloop. Also you should give more info about the problem: (i) If you're trying to connect in Mass Storage Mode it can't because it's 'bricked'. (ii) Or are you trying to connect in preboot and it reboots spontaneously?
I manually dropped a 2017 map in my 3760 and i didn't update the software before doing that. now when i start up, it loops and restarts. I press the upperleft to get it into pre-boot mode then connect to my pc while the garmin updater is searching for device, but it doesn't connect. i can hear it try to connect, then fail, then restarts. Even connecting in Mass Storage Mode, it just reboots and never connects.
Almost certainly the map .img you loaded is corrupt. What you need is cure firmware which will enable Mass Storage Mode so you can remove the offending file. That's the reason it's suggested to only use non-OEM maps on a media card rather than the internal memory. If a dud map 'bricks' the device then removing the card fixes it. Go here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Try QuickCure first, most likely it will work for you.
Quickcure worked. Thanks. The problem was that i was prompted by bitlocker to encrypt the file system on my gps and i did. this caused it not to be able to load.
Do you know where I can find City Navigator North America NT 2019.2 img map file unlocked for garmin?

Glad that it helped.
No for the unlocked map however. Illegal stuff isn't allowed on this forum now sorry.
