What is it supposed to do? Fix the search feature or strictly unlock the map? Perhaps maybe unlock the map so that POI's work? If so, I'll check it out!

Nup, sorry. It will unlock maps with FID below 2200 but it won't fix the POI search problem in NT maps.

Neil the program has unlocked all FIDs so far. I used the FID: 3558 for the North American 2015.30 mapset to generate the unlock key. But there is no solution yet for the POI search.

Yes of course, i typed that by habit without qualifying the statement. As mentioned in earlier posts, JM code unlocking in maps over 2200 FID will still work in these GW navis - in the vast majority of Garmin units the firmware has long been updated with GMA protection to stop that therefore gimunlock.exe has to be used. Even later protection introduced for some current devices and unicode maps cannot be presently overcome, let's hope that doesn't spread to future fw updates of older units, brrr!

    Thanks for the clarification.

jinxxxxxx - I see you have been working on this for Goldwing also. I have just created my 'gmapsupp' using 2015.30 maps and ran across this website doing the same thing. Have you been able to UNLOCK to maps with this version of the mapset? Also my understanding is that the Goldwing gmapsupp contains a HARDWARE ID. I have not located that yet. I was wondering if that is part of the FID value. Let me know how you make out this.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking but I will try. I believe you are asking if I am running 2015.3 on my 2006 Goldwing ?
If so yes I have been able to unlock all mapsets , sofar , to run on my 2006 wing. First have you tried the unlocked img that is available ? that is the easiest way. If you want to use your gmapsupp than you can use this program garmin-image-unlock-gimgunlock-up-v-0-03 to unlock your mapset.

The Hardware ID can be retrieved in the bikes sys/info display. turn the bike to ACC. press menu, then press setup info and then info/sys. The unit ID is the hardware ID you are looking for. Now run JetMouse Garmin Keygen v1.5 with Checksum Fix to generate an unlock code for your bike and mapset.

I hope this helps if not please post and I will do what I can to help more.
If I have made any errors in this post please feel free to correct me.

Yes this is what I was asking. I used MAPSOURCE to build the new IMG file on my CF card. Then I looked at the folder on the CF card and noticed it built only 2 files, an IMG and GMA file. Will I find the 'garmin-image-unlock-gimgunlock-up-v-0-03' program and 'JetMouse Garmin Keygen v1.5' here to download?

The hardware ID I thought was different than the unit ID, no? I thought I saw on this thread somebody posted the ID as 265 for 06-08 bikes.

I will try your suggestions tomorrow and see if I get it right. Tis will be great if I can get this to work.

    Thanks.

    Welcome to GPSPower Cactusman.

Unit ID is not Hardware ID [HWID]. The UID is 10 numbers and is unique to the actual device, HWID identifies a model or series and it's either 3 or 4 numbers although the 3 numbers [early devices such as these] are nowadays usually shown with a zero in front to make them 4. HWID is not even necessarily unique to a specific model series/localization although it usually is. A third identifier is the PCB P/N, the same specific model/series HWID units may use several variations and there may be other units with different HWIDs which have the same PCB P/Ns too, e.g.: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. In some older devices the PCB P/Ns are unknown.

[0]265 is the 06-08 US GW HWID. [0]712 is the HWID for 09-10 US SD card units. The device's UID is used in JM along with the map's FID, PID etc to generate a 25 character unlock code. Just use gimunlock, imo it's easier anyway.

JM and gimgunlock thread links can be found in the Index: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Sorry my confusion about your guestion about unit id and hardware Id. For unlocking the maps for the goldwing you need the unit ID from the bike.

If you are using a patched Mapsource as I am than do this. Install the mapset you want to use in mapsource. Get the Unit ID from your bike's gps and the FID from the mapset. Follow the directions in JetMouse to generate an unlock code for your bike. Use the bike's Unit ID in the Unit ID window and the mapset FID in the Select Map Product window using the custom map option.
Unlock the mapset in Mapsource using the unlock codes you generated with JetMouse. Now use Mapsource to transfer the maps to your CF card . That is it.
Only one file, gmapsupp, needs be on the CF card and it will be in a folder called Garmin.

If you have seceded you will see a message loading maps the first time you turn the bike and the map will be unlocked. If the map in still locked check to make sure that maps are unlocked for the bike in Mapsource.

The maps are starting to become too large for the 2gb memory stick so you will have to be a little selective on your maps.

    Hope this helps.

    Things that I have done:
    - downloaded MAPSOURCE to my PC
    - installed maps 2015.3 to pc (I have lifetime map support for my 1690 so I install maps to my pc along with to the 1690)
    - built a new gmapsupp.img file on my CF card
    - ran gmaptool against new gmapsupp.img file, noticed unlocked in several places
    - downloaded gimptools
    - run giminlock.exe against new gmapsupp.img file on CF card (looks like program wrote a new gmapsupp.img file)

So is my next step in this process is run JETMOUSE against the newly created gmapsupp.img file?
