Hi, I have a Garmin nuvi 1350, it freezes at the Garmin logo and will not go any further. I've try to connect to the PC but not able to detect the device. Please help and advise, thanks.
@dreams970
I moved your post here. Read carefully then follow the instructions in the initial post and you should be able to recover your nuvi. Post again here if you need further help.
Thanks for the great tool. Works with my nüvi 2595
Using W7 laptop, I have a Nuvi 1350 HWID 972 w/ 2.70 OS. When I tried to flash an OS update, it did not complete and then displayed software missing prompt. I was finally able to get it to show up in Windows by batching Quick Cure and loading the BIN file. However, another curious problem has presented. It appears the entire unit is in read-only mode. I can delete files (unused languages) to clear up space and it shows the file deletion. Yet when I reboot the unit (again using quick cure) the file system is unchanged and has reverted to the original. When I check Garmin folder attributes, it shows read only. I uncheck that, and delete files, but they return on the next boot. Almost as if it is a locked image. I have seen this occur before once or twice in a Nuvi 765 and 1690 and could not solve it. Any suggestions?
Try to backup all files from the Nuvi.
Scan your computer for Virus. or use a known Clean computer.
Format the Nuvi as described [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Create an Empty folder named Garmin.
Then Reflash firmware using GarminCure3 in original mode.
Nuvi 13xx can boot up without Files.
This nuvi can't work anymore becouse flash chip is broken.
You can try read/write NVM over SD, and you will see that you will have error.
@Loly, You are probably right, If the flash Chip is broken it will probably fail the Format, and Creating a Folder Called Garmin.Quote:

I've had a similar problem recently on a USB Flash Disk and it was caused by Virus.
@ Redrock3
Try not sure it may work: delete files and uplug nuvi not using safe disconnect ;) Unlink the USB cable after closing the windows referred to device, obvious ;))
Bye,bye
Loly is most likely correct, but like dasilvarsa i've also had instances of infected removable drives. At least one nuvi with a virus/worm and also a 6GB microdrive too which defied removal tools. Try to reformat it with RMPrepUSB as dasilvarsa suggested. If that won't work, try Low Level Format tool:
If the flash chip is damaged you can replace it from another 1xxx unit [or even from 2xx/w] but reballing is not for the half-blind ham-fisted such as yours truly. Some more info here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. If you think [Only registered and activated users can see links.
