    I am still trying to mess around with the whole 3d thing. I was reading the thread "About Garmin Additions files (gmap3d-JCV-gmaptz-ASR-G2S" but I could not find the gmap3d.ing on my garmin so I decided to reinstall my maps through garmin express and then the gmap3d.img showed up under systems in the garmin and I also have the map layer to show 3d and terrain. Now for some reason mymaps shows three different types of maps: Cnna - Na-Dem North America DEM, CN North America NT 2015.30 3D, CN North America NT 2015.30 ALL. Should there be check marks next to all three of these maps? Do you think you could show me a screen shot of your 2595 with terrain/3d?

    I suspect you've missed the point i made earlier that certain features are not available because they aren't in the firmware unfortunately. You can set your location to a rural area to see if DEM [Digital Elevation Modelling aka 3D Terrain] is available to it. Try different zoom levels. When you zoom out beyond the detail map you'll see another entirely different representation type of 'DEM' which is built into the OEM Basemap and is more like the colour shading of a printed paper map.

    There are two complely different Garmin features which confusingly both have '3D' in the naming, 3D Terrain [DEM] and 3D Buildings & Landmarks. A unit's firmware might have the capability to see the 'fake 3D' of Buildings & Landmarks [like a moving 2D representation of perspective drawings on paper, but it's not really 3D] however that unit might not be capable of displaying DEM [3D Terrain], an example of that is the nuvi 7x5 series. However nuvi 3xxx series can handle both in the firmware. I know the 2595 can't even use the 'fake 3D' of the gmap3D.img [they only show as 2D outlines which are probably still only polygons build into the detail map anyway which it can display regardless] so maybe it can't process the specific DEM map images in it's firmware totally regardless of what's [apparently] enabled in region 140/supported_features.html.

    Again, hard reset is the Immediate Action/First Aid to ensure all features are available following any manipulation of the unit's firmware or regions.

    If any map type is unchecked in Settings>Map & Vehicle>MyMaps it will not be available to display regardless of what's checked in Map Layers and vice versa. Can't have one without the other.

    SG 2565 has possible PCB P/N of 105-01927-00; 01870-00; 01964-01/02 or 01787-10. US/EU 2xx5 has 105-01925-00/02; 01926-00/02/10, 01916-00 or 02067-00. No matches SG>US.

    I can't find BR 2565 firmware, do you know the possible PCBs for it Angelo or Loly? I suspect it's more closely related to US 2xx5 than SG 2565.

    @celio_f
    Welcome to GPSPower and thanks for that info. [I've removed your 'Unit ESN' aka Unit ID to protect your identity].

    HWID 1371 & PCB P/N of 01926-00 match US/EU 2xx5 hardware/firmware.

    Loly & Angelo, what happened when you flashed 140.bin from US/EU to the BR 2565?

    Hi all, I've been reading a lot on these forums and this seemed like the best thread to comment in. I have a 2457LMT that I am trying to enable features on. I came across a note about this not being possible on the 2013 models because the icons aren't accessible. However, I was able to get the features I activated, namely ASR, to show up in the supported features HTML. I realize I may not have necessary hardware etc, but this is more of a "fun" project for me. My HWID is 1582, which appears to be shared with some 2597 models. It seems like the firmware is the same, so I feel like there is some hope. If anyone has any insight to share that might help, I'd appreciate it.

    G'day 00rt, welcome to GPSPower.

    There may be other reports too, but i posted recently about the icons not appearing in 2013 models [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. My personal attempt was with a US 3597 firsthand and i've heard of other 2013 units with same negative results, sure the features might appear in supported_features.html after modding of rgn140 but that's useless without the Icons to select in the unit's Apps screen. As i said to that member in other thread, you can try though.

    The other thread is newer and uses the Mod_2xxx.exe to easily and safely enable/disable features. Keep a backup of both regions 41 and 140 before attempting as said in the other thread and probably best to post over there if you need more help. If you do try, a report as to whether the icons appear or not in your 2457 would be welcome regardless.
