Hi Guys,Is it possible to make one of these updates for the new Nuvi 40?
tia
Were is the original 140.bin located?
WOW, I thought I had to buy the more expensive one to get these features, thank you
I cannot find the 140.bin to backup?
If you do not remember from which side you went to us unlikely we will be able to help :)
Original 140.bin located in device. Do you got backup before trying? No! And then you do not need!!! Please read this thread and make new as you want!!!

To be honest, making backups is suggested in the first post of this thread but no exact instructions are given there.
So your sarcasm is inappropriate in this case.
We have so much sarcasm from you on this forum, but do we have any real help? Are you a *PRO* who is so tired of saying the same things again and again to *stupid users*? No, you are not, definitely. Moreover, the most helpful forum members are not trying to insult anyone. So, be modest.
gc_geforce
okay, making backups isn't of much necessity in this particular case.

Actually, we could merge all the Garmin/Update folders into one and add backup capabilities.
I added backup original 140 region in the folder \backup.
To restore the original 140 region,140.bin copy from \backup folder to the root of the memory card.
rrgn,140,1:/backup/140.bin
xrgn,140,1:/140.bin
reboot

Guys, forget about modding rgn 140. In general this is not the correct way. The correct way is using GarminDevice.xml. In 140 are recorded settings made by GarminDevice.xml but there could be settings in other rgns.
Does anyone have the original 140.bin for a 2555LMT? I need to restore and there was not backup as I use the first one.
Thanks
