Try webupdater again now, you should update them now ,these are from my backup and were updated recently, run updater ,it will say there is no firmware update, but will ask if you want to continue to see if there are other kind of updates, click yes.

I really have no idea what I did wrong along the way. But, everything is working now, tks!
I did also run webupdate + mygarmin after place your file in the folder. ( no update shown )
Now UI display in Japanese and Chinese without issue.

For sake of it, I then deleted the Japanese text file off my nuvi and follow with webupdate. Strangly, webupdate did not show that I can update Japanese text file. ( I believed I might have mess up the garmindevice.xml file? )

when i missing some kbd, text or another type of files (or afrter rewriting firmware) i use this trick:
open file \\GARMIN\GarminDevice.xml in any editor (prefer in XML-editor) and change ALL (except firmware) version data to 1.00 (or just one step less). Or, if you know "PartNumber" of lost files, you can do it on some lines.
    <Version><Major>2</Major><Minor>60</Minor></Version>
    change to
    <Version><Major>1</Major><Minor>00</Minor></Version>

After this DONT reboot device (if make reboot then GarminDevice.xml will be rewrited by old values) and run WebUpdater . It offer for you to download ALL files where you change version (keyboards, text, help, TMC-text, dashboards, cars, voices e.t.c).
To the article, take a look at Arrow-car - its different with 3790 and on my opinion much more "ugly" when compared with old one. Never update it

BTW, anyone know if the Nuvi firmware is Cumulative or Progressive? ( should I upgrade each firmware from earliest stage to get all the changes or function? )

If you have the first , you can get the lastest one to get all features.

    Thanks!

There is no way I am going back to 3760! I almost sell my nuvi just because the Sat signal is so weak and SLOW.
I have no idea how can 34xx's 3.04 GPS firmware, soooooooooooooo much better than 37xx's 2.8?

What you got is just from firmware.
Nuvi 3500/3400 (the real) will amaze you.

I was planning on GOING BACK to 2360 and save the money or bite the bullet with 34xx/35xx series, because they are the only nuvi with 3-axis electronic compass.... just wondering if e-compass is the key? For now, I could stay put for a while.
