Another way to convert 34xx with logo and enable features
Thank you I just got it flashed back. The reason I flashed back to 37xx was because the voice command was missing from the 34xx on my device. I think I download the Canadian FW and not the usa. So that might have been the problem. I'm going to give it another try. Thanks for the help.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] - this file enabled voice command. But you must have asr files from 3490
Thanks for posting the link for the files. Ok I got all of them installed and like you said I have to have the asr files. I updated my nuvi and I enabled the voice command. I get a message that says " This feature is not available for the united states in english. Do you know where I can find the asr files?
Did you try with WebUpdater ?Quote:

Look at sections indexes, you'll find what you need ;)
Thanks for the link. I did a live update and it fixed all my problems. So far it seems like its running smoothly on my 3790. I went out to my car to check for traffic updates and it works. Thanks everyone for your help.
@ dasbell and any other Canadian or US user:
As I understand from long research, nothing led me to conclude that in 3490 there is any difference in software or firmware between these countries. There is yes a traffic coverage service that is well covered in many US cities, but not in Canada because maybe we keep on being the leftovers of the US capitalism... lol!! Just joking here! I don't feel that way a little bit, but I do feel that Garmin is not treating its Canadian customers fairly. Or is it not Garmin's fault and we are suffering from some technological hiccup!
Hi to all of the usual Hard League Members!
I'm back after a few weeks of busyness! I took a chance to read all the threads I missed since my last visit and would like to comment about the satellite accuracy problems some encountered. My converted unit is working same way as before with an accuracy meter ranging from 5-8 metres. Recently, though, I experienced only once a wierd behaviour that I wonder if is the cause to your problems. As I was driving and a few miles away from the place I had been parked and removed the unit from the power mount, I decided to rely on the gps to provide me a quicker way to arrive to a destination I was driving to. I removed the gps from my shirt pocket (sweet fit isn't it? :-D) and tuck it into the power mount. I was moving. After around 5 minutes the unit was still searching for signal and was no less than 30 meters accurate. I had to go for a halt, remove it from power, put it in sleep mode, wake it up, power it back and the unit happily picked up all satellites and 6m accuracy in a few seconds. As usually does!
So I wonder if whenever you have the accuracy problem that is due to not starting your unit when completely immobilized?
Rebooting problem:
A couple of weeks ago I had a real problem with my unit as it was doing nicely trip routing in a sunday morning and then in the afternoon it gone crazy and systematically started rebooting itself after some 15 seconds on main screen. I was just looking at it trying to figure out "what had I done wrong?" Because I hadn't done any modifications to it since using that morning I decided to connect it to the computer and look for SW updates. Nothing. Hmmm, then decided to reinstall the sw version I have, but before I did it I thought of firstly clearing nov vol (I was going to lose data anyway).
So I cleared non vol and it stopped the rebootings. It's been working fine ever since, but what could have caused the issue? I suspect low RAM in the unit, it was almost full with so much stuff planted in it that I erased. As of now I've 1.4GB free.
Try to shutdown unit and power on again.
Or try to do a hard reset.
Hope this will help to get better signal reception.
37xx has sleep mode :Animated49:, not same as old unit that will power on from non sleep mode (like turning on the computer)
Good afternoon,
Has anybody already updated firwmare to 6.2 level?
I wonder whether the new firmware improves sensitivity and stability (less frequent jumps, hang or reboot).
Regards,
Federico
