Anybody find out how can you change nuvi ID in region 41?
Excuse me, but why?
On nuvi 3790 if you have 37xx some function wont work.
If you flash with backup from other nvui 3790 you get then 3790 but you have also ID from this nuvi where was backup created.
That is the reason why i ask if is posible to change ID in region 41
That's very simple. Change UnitID in region 34 and save it as 34_m.bin. Put this file on SD card.Quote:

Execute batch:
xrgn,34,1:/34_m.bin
ergn,41
xrgn,34,1:/34_m.bin
Attention:
You will get 34xx instead of 3790 or 3760 etc.
Also you'll probably lose blue tooth, but this can be easily recovered.
P.S. This worked on 3790 flashed to 3490.
Where 34_m.bin is a region 34 with modified UnitID.
If updating to latest 34xx firmware (on a converted 37xx) is it still necessary to convert GCD to Region and use update.exe, or can I just copy new 34XX UPDATE.GCD file to system folder?
It's depend on your hwid. (work , if your hwid = 1376 )Quote:

How to determine?
If Webupdater recognizes like Nuvi 3490, then Hwid = 1376. Or in garmindevice.xml you can find a string <PartNumber>006-B1376-00</PartNumber>Quote:
