Default Nuvi 1390 Reboot Loop Cure Firmware

    Hello all

I have a friends Nuvi 1390 which is stuck in the normal reboot loop. HWID 972 and runs Software 3.6. Unit goes into Preboot mode, tried many cure firmware including 2.1, 3.3, 4.4, 5.1.
However updater cannot seem to write the cure firmware to device. As soon as updater goes into "erasing" mode the Garmin resets. Then I get error message from updater "The GARMIN device is unable to program the requested memory region"

    Anything I can try?

Do you finger stay on display when nuvi restart?
Your friend flash some other region on nuvi?

Yes windows 7 - but I've successfully flashed cure firmware onto another 1390 and a 255w on this computer in the past
Yes my finger was on screen
    No idea about region

Tried your 3.6 and 5.4 files with same issue.
Funny, I actually just got another 1390 delivered from eBay. This one is also HWID 972 but runs software 3.7 according to g7towin. This one has exactly the same issue with the updater error message, except it says "Software Missing" before updater tries to erase, then restarts. So now I have two 1390t's that updater cannot program. I also tried a second computer which also runs windows 7, same issue. Is a memory problem common with these units?

I think there is something with USB cable.

Hmm thought you might've had something with the USB cable but I tried a shorter one and it doesn't work too. I'll upload a video to youtube demonstrating the problem.

Try to change cable like kunix say and try to run updater.exe as administrator and set compatibility to win xp sp3

Already tried another USB cable, updater automatically runs as Admin. Here's a video of what happens - I switch to the second Nuvi half way through

I'm sure it's running as admin, UAC asks me about it and I click "yes".
