Flash original software and try to delete .System\sqlite. I have this problem at Nuvi 1310 and deleting help me
Last week I had one nuvi 610 left from a friend. After updating the FW and maps the nuvi lost sound. I tought that the problem is software and tried hundred of ways for updating, downgrading etc. to enable the sound. Unfortunately, no one worked. So I decided that surgery is needed. I opened nuvi and replace the speaker. Now the nuvi 610 have sound. :)

@ Rik
Service?! If you want you can contact GCS. But think you can mange it yourself. It is very simple changing the speaker. Just be careful when opening the body and taking off the wires.
Type. The type of the speaker was something like Taiwanesse company "Veco", 1W 8Ω, diameter 36mm. Just google Veco speakers and you will see it. But don't think you should care about that. (I just happen to have one simmilar left from my SP so I didn't have to buy a new one. From the corpses of my SP :rotfl:.) Maybe in your nuvi 1250 it is using different speaker. I am not sure. Think it is the same 1W 8Ω but different in size. You should check. Such speakers can be found everywhere.
