Red face Huh, nuvi 1440 won`t boot

    Hello,

I have nuvi 1440 (Made in Taiwan with 4GB interlnal memory) which won`t boot, it freezes on Garmin logo.I have just deleted some voices and gmapsupp.img from his memory to make some room for other maps(as usual for other nuvis) and after few minutes I have restarted my pc and after that I have a problem. Now nuvi is not recognized by XP nor Windows7 and it freezes.I did not make some backup of deleted content, because I am now surprised with this sequence of events.

I have been reading forums for about 2 days, there are a lot of information and I am now a little confused what to do.
I have tried restart with no success and I have tried boot it with micro SD card and an empty garmin folder on it with no success.
It seems that I need to flash the device from micro SD card.Which firmware is right for it, some from Garmin or some alternative one or some cure one ?

Thank you very, very much in advance

you need a cure, probably you copied an .img that caused the problem

No, I did not copied anything to nuvi for sure. I just deleted gmapsupp.img of Western Europe and some voices. And gmapbmap.img remained untouched on it, as well as *.sum files of gmapbmap and gmapsupp. It seems that just a lack of gmapsupp.img or voices caused non booting.
So, do you still think that I should try with a cure firmware and is it many risky or to try something other ?
    Thank you
