Could you please check if this problem exists in the original firmware?

I am trying to download the new Firmware for Montana 600, but the former links don't work:

If I am going over the official webside I have to use Garmin Express and cannot patch it...

Any idea what is wrong now?
    Thanks!

Turn on "Adjust firmware version" checkbox in the patcher window, and change the value in the edit field to, say, 1. After this, patch the firmware 3.90.
The patcher version will become 3.91, and you'll be able to install it over the 3.90 you already have without the settings reset.

So I install patched 3.91 (anyway, would it be possible to have 3.91 in place of 3.90 marked in the file and the gps ?), I copy original v3.90 gupdate.gcd in internal memory.
Rebooting, I obtain the message "New software found : the software is older than your current software. Continue installing and clear all user data ?"
In doubt I answer no. Maybe i can restore later my settings ?

You can surely restore the settings.
The easiest way is to create a new setting profile in your device, and after the firmware installation you'll be able to restore the settings from this saved profile. Unfortunately, some settings are not save into the profiles.

Anyway, what version is currently shown in the About page of your device?

Rigt now the version is : "Patched version 3.90" (made with 390 + 1 in the patcher).
So I will create a new setting profile - return back to genuine 3.90 - proceed to a power cycle test.

I'd also recommend to backup the settings profile and all your tracks/points etc. to your computer - just to make sure you won't lose them during the firmware downgrade.

so I do, backing up my profile, more Settings.fit in directory Garmin\Settings and so i loose nothing, thanks for advice.
I start recordind track, remove one battery, replace it, restart gps and tracklog :
first- with fw 3.90 not patched : no problem
second- with patched 3.90+1 : no more problem
restoring previous profile and settings.fit, I only have to set gps+glonass and re-enable waas.

So no problem this time with not patched or patched firware !
