I've uploaded the new version [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...].
It should correctly work with the latest FW version, but the testing is necessary anyway.
I'm waiting for the reports :)
AlexWhiter, the patcher works fine in Oregon 450 with v6.00 fw. The only detail is that at the time of the update on the gps the system identified the patched v6.00 as older than the previous which was installed (v5.90), but was enough to authorize for the upgrade be done. Perhaps because of pieces of code from older firmware..
Haven't you used the "Adjust FW version" option in the patched when you've patched version 5.90?Quote:

No, the v5.90 was patched without "adjust FW version", as 5.90. Let's wait for other reports to check..Quote:

4.60 works GREAT in Montana..!!!!!!!!!!.... 2.12 CHAMP!!!!!!
It sound as you first patched fw_all.bin from ver.6.00 and then combined new fw_all.bin with old boot.bin for ver.5.90! Be careful!Quote:

I compare original and patched files - no difference in code for the version of the product...
AlexWhiter - you are iron man. Only yesterday we wanted to get depressed or drunk but already today morning you deprived us of this pleasures! :)
GPSmap62S - normal flight! JNX hustlers better on the new version of SW. Thank you very much for your sleepless nights!?
If you, AlexWhiter, need in full (source is a text resource from gupdate.gcd) russian text file for new version (2.80) I am ready send to you a my handycraft version!
After the important observations of AlexWhiter and Giomen, I decided remake the procedure on my Oregon 450 with more attention. Some unusual things happened, it remains to investigate the cause, but the end result is that the symptom of older software warning appears when doing the upgrade from fw 5.90 patched to 6.00 patched, see the result, in some curious passages:
1. Downgrade of the Fw 6.00 Patched to original Fw 5.90 - Result: ok, normal warning of older software
2. Upgrade of original FW 5.90 to Fw 6.00 Patched - Result: ok, and without warning
3. Downgrade of Fw 6.00 Patched to Fw 5.90 patched - Result: ok, but curiously without any warning of older software
4. Upgrade of Fw 5.90 patched to Fw 6.00 patched - Result: ok, but curiously with warning of older software being installed ("Found new software. The software is older than the current one. Intends to continue the installation and delete your user data?" YES x NO) and gps go to factory default: language, measurement units, satellite position.. (software installed: Patched Version 6.00)
Finally, I hope that my observations not have been taken as criticism, far from it, were mere findings. By the way, some unimportant to me. The end result is that you can use files JNX, is what matters. So I am, like many thousands of other users of Garmin handhelds, most grateful to AlexWhiter, a great guy: thanks for sharing the result of your important work. We owe a lot to people like you!
Can you share both original GCD files that you were using for testing?
UPD: I would be great if you shared the patched versions also.
Kunix, follow the link to download. The fw were downloaded from the Garmin website. Particularly believe that the cause is not in the fw upgrade, but checking or recording in some region of Rom. I've seen similar problem, even with a his patcher. When flashed as rgn not give any notice, obviously, but when the upgrade was done by gupdate.gcd occurred the same as reported.
