Finally i got it running. There is a bit of confusion even WITH your pretty good decription (especially if one doesnt install software like as often as others here)

Btw, I use the standalone version. Voice's OK, even without installing support files.
Sadly, the voice says turn "West" instead of "Left" or "Right".. :(
