See that this is not a perfect app and there are a lot of holes in it.
Try apps like "Keep Screen On" search the google store.......:yesyes:
On my POCO X3 with Android 11, NT cards are working.
BUT: the map screen size is about 1/10 of my screen and with that it is not workable.
Unfortunately.
Does anybody know how to change that to full screen (6.67 inches, 107.4 cm2)?
@ mollex,
You except everything to work correctly and you have done this:
I quote:
"Xiaomi POCO X3 (unlocked & rooted) with LineageOS 18.0 [SURYA] Android 11."
Users have enough problems running stock Android with this app.
This app is just an experiment that someone was able to patch.
It is what it is.......:book:
asprin624: I know. I only want to inform others about my experiences.
The really good application for all Garmin TOPO map!!! Especially if you have a collection of you have the favourite maps with a desire to see it on your smartphone without any third-party applications.
About NTU map. Probably they do not work properly because app does not may to unlock it due to app SW which does not work with Unicode map without genius GMA. Does anybody remember the problem with Nuvi 55,56,65,66 and later models with an unlocked map before it was found the way to patch SW? Even if you remember this fact it does not mean this does not mean that you are doing well with your memory! :) The solution was there on the forum. Catymag we love you and remember!!!!!!
After changed CP in the map from Unicode (65001) to any Win (1250 or 1252) Garmin ist kaputt. Even more, more happiness has occurred because SID files are supported. At least I tested the External Point Addressing and it works despite missing SID record in garmindevice.xml file. App has searched for address points that are not locked on the street line primarily and maybe even more important it found addresses that absent on map and live in SID files exclusively. The last thing is very actual for Russian CN NTU especially since the number of address point on this map is very limited and the lager half of addresses are contained in SID file for External Point Addressing.
Now about a fly in the ointment:
1) Localisation! If I changed SP in the img of the NTU map to 1251 (WIN Cyrrilics) I can not use searching in Russian. Only English transcription is available. Omnibox for searching do me a favour with respect to prompt the spelling option but I want more. Another thing is gibberish in the visible label of points on the map due to inappropriate CP (code page). Streets and cities label is in English and it is not a problem.
And I make a reservation right away. My phone locale is only English. This app has a big restriction that it is a part of whole Monterra SW user can not change the system language in it independently. I have a smart look to APK source and find two things. The first is locales.xml in the path - files/text. I had put locales.xml form Nuvi and it does not work. The second is the language gtt files is in nonvolume memory of Monterra (1:/) so I have no idea at all.
I need some help. Anybody can upload locales.xml from Monterra?! And of course I want to get experience from the user which uses not Latin based languages!
I go to smoking! ;)
Problem number two! Maybe it is only my problem?! But I do not have the marine profile in the menu after installing the app. BlueChart maps are reading but not properly. In source APK the marine profile present. It has some code that must resolve this issue and obviously these inner settings can not be reproduced by direct changing via the menu of the apps. So...
Does anybody have the marine profile in the menu?! Or any ideas?
P.S. Maps, JCVs and SIDs on SD work fine for me. Maps in Garmin folder and JCV ana SID with same name folders in the root of SD.
Coming back to APK source I have a lucky ticket because SD card must have one of these paths in the system probably and I have it:
/ s d c a r d /
/ d a t a / d a t a / c o m . g a r m i n . a n d r o i d . a p p s . o u t d o o r
/ m n t / e x t _ s d c a r d
n u v i f o n e :))))
P.S.1. Does everybody have an ID of the device in garmindevice.xml as equal 5000?
Could you post a picture where you see this profile?
(You can reference any code in the apk as well, I am comfortable looking into it)
FYI, /data/data/xxxx is the path where app's data is stored, its private unless the user is root. Every Android phone will have this path.
The app uses /sdcard/Garmin path. Typically /storage/emulated/0 is mounted to that path but will change depending on the device. If anyone doesn't have /sdcard/ path, but has root permissions to the device, you can use "mount" command to mount the patch instead of patching the apk/libgarminos.so
OK! I slightly understand that. But I do not have root permission for further investigation.
/ m n t / e x t _ s d c a r d work for me as visa versa of / s t o r a g e / 0 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 0 on my phone.
The marine profile is on the path in APK:
res\xml\marine_defaults.xml
The strings that were highlighted by red is a question. I am going to try to substitute one of a visible profile like Motorcycle with the content of this marine profile in APK and see that will be happened...
/ d a t a / d a t a / c o m . g a r m i n . a n d r o i d . a p p s . o u t d o o r is obviously used as 1:/ (nonvolume) drive?! Can you see if it have *.gtt files?
Greeting!
Would someone ask for contact again because all the links are dead !? Thanks!
