Yes. There is a basemap in SP. The problem reamins regardless of leaving it there or deleting it.
It is as if the GPU is not utilised at all. The whole interface is sluggish.
I tried "Force GPU rendering" option under Developer Options in android setting, but it made no difference.

@ysfm
This is problem with your device keyboard, try with SwiftKey Keyboard and let us know if you still have problem.
p.s.
Don't forget to set SwiftKey Keyboard as your default keyboard for device.

On my Samsung S4 Mini Duos I9192, KitKat 4.4.2, non-root, Works just fine, no freezes or keyboard issues.
Only the TTS voices doesn't work, it's runs too slow and freezes the app up. I just turn to a no-TTS voice, and the app keeping running with no problems.

Just thought I'd say thanks for this port.
I have a Garmin Nuvi, but don't always have it with me.
I had the older version of this app installed on my old phone. Did get to use it once or twice. Is very helpful when I don't have service; otherwise I would just use Google Maps.
I decided to try this on my Samsung Galaxy S3 running AICP 5.1.1. From the quick testing I just did, it looks to be working great. Now if I'm out and about and have no cell service without my Nuvi, I'm set.

Hi flagmax
Thanks, works fine on Galaxy S5, Lollipop. But one question: I miss the "Address" input icon in the Where To Window. There is only Towns to choose. So I have to go to Apps/Route when I want to go to an exact address. Im used to Address icon from "normal" Garmin devices.

Icons are configurable, the same way as on "normal" nuvi. You can add "Address" to main window.
