I have a Samsung S4 running Android 4.2.2. I followed the instructions on installing Garmin Streetpilot 2.35. I noticed that the SDcards path was located at /storage/extSDcard/Garmin so I followed the instructions here:--http://www.gpspower.net/garmin-phones-tablets/330761-streetpilot-v2-35-app-release-960x540-1920x1080-android-4-2-2-a.html. I installed the apk for this folder extension and then copied the folder Garmin to the root of my SD card. In here I copied the UK maps called UK+Ireland 42.img and also some voices into the voices folder.
When I run Garmin it doesn't see the maps so I uninstalled the apk and then reinstalled it, but nothing shows. Could anyone advise what I have done wrong, I am sure it is simple but I cannot fathom it.
I inserted the map folder as shown in the instructions and put the map in there, but it didn't work for the SD card so removed it and installed it into the phones memory. This worked, but now I appear to have used a lower resolution apk file, so need to put a new one on that has a higher resolution.
It is working but I cannot see how you navigate to an address, does it give you this option as I can only see how to navigate to home which is programmed in or an intersection. There are no options to navigate to an address using the post code and when I use the towns it comes up blank on the route planner. Any ideas why that is please?
This depends on map file probably and on how it has been made.

Press "Where To" and scroll down the list and press the "green cross" to add more shortcuts (like Address, Gas Stations, Banks, Hotels etc) to the Where To list.
You can also move around those shortcuts if you keep them pressed, wait for the blue square to become white and then move them up, down, left or right.
If you already have done the above and when you enter an address or a town name you get no results, then maybe your map file is corrupted or your map doesn't have this kind of data (not probable for a map).
Thank you to all for your help. Having used other Sat Nav Apps I expected it to work offline, which it does not. I also realised that I could zoom out on the display, which has improved matters. I was able to set up a route to go to once it aquired the satellites. I used this app many years ago on a PNA but will see what this is like. Just need to get speed cameras on it now, so if you can point me in the right direction that would help. Is it as simple as copying a folder to my device?
cheers once again
SP works off line.
You can use SCDB, but no sound only warning on screen.
Copy .gpi in POI folder
Thanks for the reply catymag, but was is the SP which works offline? Bit disappointed that there is no sound as when your driving you cant be looking at the sat nav, its not safe!!. Will try the app out but it does not seem as slick as TomTom or Copilot.
Keep in mind this app is cracked and ported from Asus Padfone Taiwan, it doesn't exist officially, some glitches haven't been solved using different languages, chinese speedcams with chinese locale are reported to work fine
