@yburic
Take a look at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. It's some examples from a re-branded 3790 -> 3490.
Has a special feature or add on to install? I did the procedure as described in this forum and the gps is working well, but i can't find in the gps unit the configuration to Smartphone link. Has a specific tutorial for this?? Tks
Enable Bluetooth and pair phone with nuvi ,then launch the application on phone. The Smartlink icon will appear on your nuvi .
Tks Catymag. I just did a reboot and after restart the device rocognized the function! Tks again.
A Tip: you must have an internet connection avaliable at the time that you connect to smartphone link, otherwise you'll have a connection error.
After running the app on your phones and enabling the bluetooth what do you guys (ladies too) see in the Diagnostic menu under the CSM Server? Is the choices there (gold, silver, bronze etc.) still inactive like when there is no phone connected?
Thanks,
There are also undocumented (by Garmin) FREE features that SmartLink provides:
Garmin's Smartphone Link app for Android allows you to:
1. Use Google Maps on your phone, search for anything and instantly send any search result to your Nuvi. Full Google Search on your Nuvi!
2. Use any 3rd party app that includes a Store Locator that is based on Google Maps and instantly send a search result address to your Nuvi.
3. Use your Android Contact file and send any contact's address to your Nuvi.
4. Use your calendar (Google or Microsoft Exchange) and send any street address entered into the calendar appointment's "Where" field to your Nuvi instantly.
It is discussed in more detail in this blog.
Sorry Admins I previously posted this link in the Transform a Nuvi thread but not sure how to link here to that thread (and content seems more appropriate here):Code:http://jkcarp.blogspot.com/2012/01/garmin-smartphone-link-revolutionary.html

Thanks Caty! I was curious. I also trace and the iphone street pilot app thread and see that it is using the same garmin servers. Useful information there too. Have a feeling that this one needs a firmware patch for unlocking all of the Smartphonelink features. Wondering who can do it? Mr. Alexander or Mr. kunix may have an idea? :playfull: BTW the app is not available at the moment for Europe so that is why you couldn't download it from the android market.
is it showing the map on phone?
