@manojmat
Sorry to post something that i cannot follow up with help for, but the file and instructions were obtained indirectly 2nd hand from a 'friend of a friend' coincidentally with Mick Fox posting. Glad you got it to work in any case.

Prior to reading your thread I did virtually the same thing
1. Downloaded the ipa
2. Changed it to a rar file
3. Deleted the map within the rar file "Payload\garmin-nav.app\storage-usa\.System"
4. Changed it back to a ipa file
5. use free iFunBox.exe to send it to the iPhone (Installous download folder)
6. Installed the app through the iPhone (Installous download folder)
7. Ran the app for a few seconds
8. Shut down the app
9. use free iFunBox.exe to send the new files to the iPhone "var\mobile\Applications\[APP DIR]\garmin-nav.app\storage-usa\.System"
10. use free iFunBox.exe to add following line to the hosts file in /etc
Typed this Line in /etc/hosts file:
127.0.0.1 [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] gold.garmin.com bronze.garmin.com
***Most important to do this to EVERY file and folder changed***
Adjust the following permissions via free iFunBox.exe :
Ownership:
Owner: mobile; Group: mobile
Access Permissions:
User: Read, Write, Execute
Group: Read, Execute
World: Read, Execute
Works Great Now
Hi Guys,
Purchased the Garmin app. and successfully managed to install the maps and POIs following all the posted indications (well never got the POIs to warn about anything but at least they showed on the screen). The big issue: upgraded to IOS6 and updated the Garmin app. Now with IOS6 cannot edit the files with iFunbox. Has anyone had the same experience? Any workaround?
I have an iPhone 4, no Jailbreak.
Thanks,
Madmax
Ps: This forum is great!
So I'm assuming it's impossible to get the Vehicle Display integration without actually purchasing it from inside the app? Anyone?

I'm not usually an advocate of cross-posting, but maybe if you've already had a scratch around over in [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and couldn't find an appropriate existing thread to post a request, you could open a new one over there. It might get more attention perhaps.
waow this is nice... garmin is finally on iphone...
May be you missed something, Garmin is on Iphone since a long time ;)Quote:

I figured it was an appropriate avenue considering I'm asking about the possibility of getting the VDI from a ******* garmin app from the installous repo. Which is what this post originated from. I'm figuring that someone would have an answer considering someone took the time to figured out how to get it working on the iPhone. My iPhone plugs into my head unit, which in turn will display the garmin VDI. Car navigation forum is exactly that, vehicles with navigation units already installed in them. If I had a navigation unit, I wouldn't NEED Garmin/In app VDI. Thanks!!!!!
@RogueStatus
Sometimes hard to tell from the written words, but if you are thinking that I suggested that you were OT here with your request that would be wrong. It was your 2nd post for this and my suggestion was meant to be helpful, not chiding. Here is indeed an appropriate venue. Kenwood also make indash nav units. Please read my post again, i see no indication that it is anything other than a suggestion that your request may get more results if cross-posted seeing you haven't had any response here to date. If you don't wish to post elsewhere as well that's fine of course. Either way, good luck.
Does anyone has any idea how to install "Garmin Indonesia" as I tried to install and getting "authentication failure" no matter I tried to modify the host file still giving me an error notification, unlike in Garmin USA, once you have modified the host file, unlock the map or supplied with unlocked map and do mod on the access permission, it will simply run. What's the deal with Garmin Indonesia?
And could anyone has a link for newest garmin USA version with no maps perhaps that can be added with any other countries' map? Thanks in advance....
