Thanks Catymag, I am looking at the Garmin 260W or the 205w, I assume this map would work on any of the newer models of Garmin?
As you can tell I am a newbie at this and just don't want to buy a unit then find out later that I can't add Thai maps or even worse I have to shelll out big bucks to do so.

Instructions to generate map unlock code for Garmin device:
    ----------------------------------------------------------

    1. Launch the keygen and enter your 10# GPS Unit ID (GMXT Card ID, Unlock ESN or GMPC Device ID).

    2. Select desired Map product and hit the corresponding Generate button to generate Map unlock key.

NOTE: If your map is not included in the Map product list, select <custom mapset>, enter the corresponding MapID and hit OK.
If you are not sure about your MapID, install it first into the MapSource, open regedit and browse for
    one of the following keys:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource\Families\<YOUR MAP>]

    or

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Garmin\Mapsource\Product\<YOUR MAP>]

and check the "ID" REG_BINARY. That is your MapID (in HEX). You have to convert it
from HEX to decimal (do not forget to reverse the byte order when coverting)

    3. Hit Generate button to generate map unlock key.

    4. Copy (CTRL+C) your generated map unlock key to the clipboard.

    5. Open the Notepad again and paste (CTRL+V) the key and save the file as GMAPSUPP.UNL

    6. Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin directory and restart GMXT.

This keygen is also compatible with Garmin MapSource application. You can use it to generate map unlock keys
for any Garmin GPS device and any map using Garmin IMG format.

Hi deniho - if you have installed MapSource on your pc, all you need to do is plug in your 760, go into the MapSource software, look under the heading "Utilities" for the "Get Unit ID..." link... click it and you'll see your number there.

You need to use Capital -U instead of -u

Question Thailand map not working on GMXT 5.00.50

Hi all, I copied the Thailand map IMG file to my Nokia 6220c Garmin directory but it is not showing under manage my data / mapsets. Only my current map is showing. The Thailand map is stored in my Garmin directory as GMAPSUPP1.IMG

Does anyone have an idea as what might be wrong?
