Hello i see that you say about this problem in this forum,

I have a problem with reading nautical charts in the garmin gpsmap 722. I have updated the GPS to the latest version (11.00) and I do not recognize the nautical card "pirate".

I downloaded the version GPSMAPSerieswithSDCard_20170825, since it is the latest version that supports the "piracy" of nautical charts (v8.80)

When I perform the "downgrade" I keep getting the version (11.00) and I have not done the "downgrade"

    What I can do?

    Greetings and many thanks

Have you tried the manual for touchscreen chartplotters from my post #21 above?
Did you extract the GUPDATE.GCD file and the 'updates' folder from the GPSMAPSerieswithSDCard_20170825.exe to the Garmin directory of your empty SD Card?
Note: Be sure to delete any existing GarminDevice.xml in the Garmin folder!

This too has happened to me - Done the official garmin update last year and sure enough the map has expired (in March).

    Questions:

    1. Does this Garmin Update ONLY affect unlocked maps?

    2. Has anyone tried to use an unlock code generated with Jetmouse with this garmin update? Does your map still work? (i.e locked map with an attached UNL file)

    3. Will Jet mouse v.1.5 generate valid UNL codes for maps with FID greater than 2200?

    Thanks all x

This is caused by a brand new map/chart protection scheme included with the latest software update.

It will affect any and all hacked/unauthorized charts.

Our only hope is that someone can/will figure out a way to bypass this new locking scheme.

There is no known hack for this new protection at this time.

All we can do is be patient.....

    Hi Magnetron.

I don't have any problems with having to purchase the Charts, but I think I should be able to make a copy that will work in my plotter.

On my boat, I have to leave the chart card in the unit/reader which is open to anyone in the cockpit.

So my $400 USD chart card can be very easily stolen. I would rather have a "copy" of the card in the plotter so if it gets stolen, I won't lose $400.

I try to remove it when I leave the boat, but don't always remember.

Seems that the expiration date is 90 days from when the unlocked map is first inserted in the unit with the updated software and not an absolute (i.e. March 2018) date.

Yesterday I moved my SD (VUS011R) from my echoMap 94sv to my new echoMap Plus 94sv and I got the dreaded ' ... cannot authenticate ..." message with a disable date of July.

So, here is the query ... where is this 90 day clock kept? If it is related to the SD's CID would a copy of the unlocked map on a different SD give another 90 days? SD cards (2 - 4 GB) are cheap compared to the cost of a new map.

The latest echoMAP CHIRP 92sv firmware does not contain such piracy protection.
Maybe you meant echoMAP Plus 92sv?

The Plus models were all born with anti-piracy firmware so there is no version to roll back that does not contain the new code. But you should be getting the 'cannot authenticate ... expires in 90 days' message.
