"Streetpilot" in Garmin's statement refers to the Streetpilot line of GPS receivers, not the Streetpilot software for Android devices. The Streetpilot line of receivers predate the introduction of Garmin's NT maps, thus those devices won't work with the maps.

Garmin as usual is either being ambiguous or only gives partial information. It's just the earliest StreetPilot devices capable of only using 'original format' [aka non-NT] CN maps which cannot use NT maps, e.g. SP 26x0. Many SP series can use NT maps, SP c3x0 [with V5.80 and later fw], SP c5x0, SP 27x0 for example. Even the non-NT SP 26x0 derivative Honda Goldwing Navi [first version] can use NT mapping since [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] so there may even be hope for SP 26x0 with firmware mod.

C'mon Neil. You're applying logic to the discussion. We can't have that.

I recently purchased a new Garmin Drive 60 GPS. I updated it with the latest firmware and maps. I have created a couple of GPI files that I use while over the road and they all work fine on the unit. However, The UNLOCKED TruckDown 2017.30 File does not. TruckDown usually shows up on the under the "Where TO?" category, but not on this unit. I had a Nuvi 70 and the TruckDown files have ALWAYS worked. I wonder if these new Drive series don't allow GPI's designed for the other units, in this case the DEZL series. I've checked with PGFT and TruckDown 2017.30 is indeed unlocked. I've downloaded this file from different sources and none of them work with Drive 60. Is Garmin implementing a new protection scheme or is the new Drive series just not compatible with TruckDown? Thanks.

Have a look at this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. There are a few solutions, best try a decrypted file first: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. One of those tricks might also work for TruckDown.

Need help please for Montana 610 and City Navigator North America NT 2017.30.gmap update.

(Note for history purposes that back in July this year I successfully used my img file from my Zumo 660 and CN .20.)

This time for .30 I did this:

    - copied img file for CN .30 from my Zumo to the Montana
    - In command window, I ran "gimgunlock.exe gmapsup1.img" which ran okay. Last line did say said "Unknown GMP file header" though.
    - got a new gcd file from Garmin and ran the IMG on it. Copied it to "Garmin" on the Montana 610.
    - started Montana 610 and it recognized new software. First said the map couldn't be used, don't remember exact words, now when I start, the CN img is not recognized when I try to select amps.
    - I renamed the old image file and kept it on the Montana SD card. to gmapsup1.im_. If I change it back to gmapsup1.img, the map which is the .20 version is still recognized as unlocked.
    - I also tried using the same patched new .30 img file under "Garmin" on the unit and the SD card.

    Need help please.

Your Montana 610 has map signature verification weak protection as you can read in list in opening post.
Read the legend in OP spoiler.
To unlock CNNAM City Navigator .img for Montana 610 use gimgunlock+mapsigpatch posted in this forum. Old gimgunlock, or its Mac version, wont remove signature so it won't work.
If you want to use Unicode (CP 65001) unlocked maps you must patch its software.
    Montana 610/680 HWID: 2299 | SWVS: 240 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Weak | GVS: ---

    Edit:
The discussion with member glennmp was moved from Universal FW Patcher thread to this CNNA thread. Reference to "opening post" therefore refers to the one in the Universal FW Patcher thread.

I used the latest gimgunlock but didn't know about mapsigpatch. I used IMGPatcher_v11 and can't locate mapsigpatch. Where can I get that please? When I search all I get is the gingunlock.exe file.

gimgunlock+mapsigpatch is one application, not two separate ones. Available [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
