You take PP payment? I can send it to you in 10 min.
The nuvi200 is not mine, it's small and cute but kind of worthless as a Nav unit. I pick my $5 android phone over it any day.
Can I "shot" below the belt? Make those eyes of yours go more toward the center.

So's a derringer small and cute but better 'n nuttin.

Nah, keep your filthy lucre. It's not worth it 'cos of the potential low blows. BTW, i recall another old proverb i just made up: "People with weird Avatars shouldn't shoot below the belt of others". Seeing i'm a gentleman, i'll extend the offer of two more questions to your early-Victorian nuvi 760 as well as your [perhaps ill-gotten] 200. But first, does that dainty little thing have TTS? If it doesn't I can probably help with that. It'll be completely free of charge, i'm now a little frightened of you ......

The nuvi760 and nuvi200 doesn't belong to me. I have nuvi765, but I seldom uses it. But the nuvi7xx series can handle MP3, so worth keeping.
I pay my debt, here is the Putin Payment I promised. Print it out and roll a cigar with it. Smoke real good....

It you can make the nuvi200 magically do TTS, there is another $100 for you!

Ha! I smelled a rat with the 'PP' earlier. Anyway, i reckon the sticky tape will make it taste kinda funny so i'll pass thank you.

You need to flash the senior model logo.bin to rgn16 then add some compatible TTS .vpm files to the 'Voice' folder to make it speak street names. You know how to do that, right?

To be frank, I've never tried it with the 2xx but it does work with the 205 to do that. The risk is all yours but the price is right, no charge even it it works. If you wanna try, tell me which HWID it is first: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Hmmm, this thread has been hi-jacked with OT discussions, so I guess doesn't hurt to continue
I've been googling for any evidence of nuvi200 being hacked to have TTS, found some questions but no answer.
Between 255W and 1300LM, which you think is better? I read somewhere that 255W can do DEM, can 1300 as well? How about buildings?

OT doesn't matter so much seeing that the greater sin is it's in completely wrong section. This should be in 'Garmin Discussions' (Discussions, comments and help requests about Garmin units, maps and software) not 'Garmin Maps' (Garmin Mapping Software) like it's in now anyway. Maybe a mod will move and split to 2 different treads but it's maybe not worth the effort to split.

Well, maybe it's been done the way that i'm thinking will work, but i haven't researched it and don't have a 'first generation' 200 to try it on. If you want to try, dump it's current region 16. I can talk you thru that if need be. Whether you need a step-by-step or not, you must be absolutely 100% sure of it's HWID first. It could be either 0834 or 0660 and there is a slight possibility it may have HWID 0851 which makes it 2x5 hardware reissued with a crippled logo back in summer of 2009 as a promo device [2nd generation 2x0] and that one can majorly benefit from a logo change, i've got 2 of them, a 200 and a 260 both HWID 0851. Standard (first gen) 2xx firmware is here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Make sure you get the appropriate firmware to extract the right boot.bin to use as Ldr.bin from the firmware [0x0C] using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], additionally [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] shows how to use and SD to dump current regions using rrgn command. Dump it's non-volatile memory from region 41 as well in case something goes wrong. Once you have the correct boot.bin it's very safe to proceed using it named 'Ldr.bin'. This is the text to use for the dumping commands:
    Spoiler:
    rrgn,16,1:/16.bin
    rrgn,41,1:/41.bin
    reboot

Between 255W and 1300LM, which you think is better?
The better navigator feature/performance-wise? Pretty much line ball I reckon. The better one to mod? Equal, but in different ways. The very basic model 1300 can be souped-up with SLI, JCV, LA and routes. A 2x5W with HWID 0827 can be changed to a 'truckie's nuvi' 465 but doing that conversion on a 255W won't give you BT as a 465, only a 265W has a BT module in the 2x5W range. HWID 0827 can also convert to SG/MY firmware to give JCV but there's problems with TTS voices so best avoided imho. If the 225W has HWID of 1091 then forget it, only 0872 can be modded safely.

I read somewhere that 255W can do DEM, can 1300 as well? How about buildings?
Nup, and Nup! Neither can use a gmapdem.img to show 3D Terrain in normal view. The only DEM available is at zoomed out Basemap levels because both are able to use a DEM basemap. Similarly neither can use a gmap3D.img to see 3D Buildings and Landmarks.
