    Default No global index

    Dear people of forum:
My name is Martin and Im writing to salute all of you and asking for your help with this case:
I downloaded City Navigator south america 2018.1 (gmapsupp.img) and I needed to view it in Mapsource.
I used gmaptool ,and Cgpsmapper full (routable, index, etc etc) .
I had success because I see it in Mapsource , but I cant search adresses, places etc outside from the section of the map that Im looking on screen .
It happens on GPS and also in PC .

Any help will be thanked .

    Thank you very much Martin

You must install PC version of map (GMAP) only! There are no searching by address and place after gmaptool because format of files for the search is different in a img and a PC installation. Cgpsmapper is needed only to compile a preview map with map boundaries!

Unfortunately MDR missing from a simple preview map made that way won't have proper search functions as already said. If you can get by using BaseCamp instead of MapSource then simply put the gmapsupp.img on an SD card in a Garmin folder or attach a device with the map loaded. BaseCamp can even see locked map image files but regardless the MS flag must be set to '0' not '1'. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

Check inbox! It is not friendly source but there is not any free alternative now. I hope you will spend much time but you get map free. Sorry but after crashing this forum due to Garmin the map sharing became profitable business. There is no problem with new maps but it is not free of charge. Obviously Garmin decided if it can not sell map let others do it too. My congratulation to Garmin for support of illegal dealers! If earlier I had downloaded map of Russia from here but recently I had paid 20 bucks for files for my Nuvi 3597...
