I would like to ask if it's possible and if so how, to merge the ''OFRM_IZO.img'' with the actual ''gmapsupptopo.img'' so i can see them both, the map and the conture lines, on the mapsource. Any help will be highly appreciated!

The expert's version of how to do it...
Use Gmaptool first to Join the two .img files into one "mapset" .img file and then use Gmaptool again to Split the "mapset" .img file for use in Mapsource or Basecamp.

The beginner's version of how to do it....

    Spoiler: .
    1. Unlock both .img files using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Drag and drop each one of the two .img files on the gimgunlock.exe file.
    2. Download and install cGPSmapper Free. Write down somewhere the installation path, you'll need it later.
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
    3. Download and install [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    4. Run Gmaptool, click Options, enter the cGPSmapper path and close Gmaptool.
    gmt01

    5. Run Gmaptool, click FILES and Drag and Drop the two unlocked .img files on the white area and click JOIN.
    gmt02

    6. Click the OUTPUT FILE, search for a folder on your PC (it doesn't matter which one), click it and write the name of the output .img file OFRM 2015.Q4.img after to the folder's name.
Write the MAPSET NAME OFRM 2015.Q4
Check SET MAPSET FID and write FID: 5341 and PID: 1
    Click JOIN ALL
    gmt03

Now the two .img files are joined as one file, named OFRM 2015.Q4.img

    7. Create a folder, for example, C:/Garmin/QFRM 2015.Q4/
    8. Run Gmaptool and Drag and Drop the OFRM 2015.Q4.img file on the white area and click SPLIT
    gmt04

    9. Click DIRECTORY and find and click the previously created folder C:/Garmin/QFRM 2015.Q4/
In MAPSET NAME write OFRM 2015.Q4
Check SET MAPSET FID and write FID: 5341 and PID: 1
    Click SPLIT ALL
    gmt05

Now your Mapsource folder C:/Garmin/QFRM 2015.Q4/ is ready

    10. Open this folder and run Install.bat to install this map in the Win registry and you are finished.

If you want to remove this map from the Mapsource (or Basecamp) list and delete it, FIRST run unistall.bat to remove its registry entries and THEN delete the folder.
DO NOT MOVE THE FOLDER QFRM 2015.Q4 AFTER YOU HAVE RUN INSTALL.BAT

Mapsource can't display this mapset correctly, it draws the height contour lines "under" the solid green polygons of vegetation on the mountains.
To view this map correctly you must use Basecamp and because it is a 3D map, you can view it in 3D Bascamp's mode!

I don't know how to thank you enough x-trail!! I've followed your instructions and i have now a map with beautiful contour lines but ........ only on the basecamp. I didn't eventually managed to view the lines on the mapsource (only the contour numbers). Also if i may ask, why i can see basecamp only in 2D? Anyhow thank you again.

Did you do everything as I've described above?
Mapsource is an old and unsupported program for those complicated maps.
I've downloaded and used TOPO LAT.rar from post #5
This map has embedded digital elevation data in every sub-file (tile), so it can be displayed in 3D mode in devices and Basecamp.
Below is the gmapsupp.img (Topo Lat.rar) as it's displayed in a nuvi connected to Basecamp in "both 2D/3D" mode and the other screenshot is the "Mapsource installed" mapset with contour lines (gmapsupp.img+OFRM_IZO.img from Topo Lat.rar)

I did everything you've write, to the letter. I prefer to work with the Mapsource because i'm more familiar with it, although i know that it's an older program. As for 2D display of the Basecamp i've read somewhere that must be something wrong with my graphic card. For the 3D mode i don't really care because my device is a GPSMAP 60CSx. Thanks again for your time x-trail!

Older video cards, even some more recent ones on the MO, may not even have a capability to display 3D in BaseCamp at all, if that's not the problem recent discussion Page 2 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] may give you some other solutions.
