There's no changelog issued by either Garmin or their 2 map data providers to even make comparison between versions of the same map possible, so even harder to compare maps from Sensis and HERE.

On the road in real time or simulation with a knowledge of the other's data or two units side by side with 2 different maps loaded is the only way afaik [but i don't need to drive myself even crazier, so over to you Shermmie ].

HERE gives some generic data of their own AU/NZ updates over the past 6 to 18 months though, but there's no way to view specifics or even check the overall statistics from one map version to the next:

The only difference that I know of from experience is that SENSIS use specific logo's from companies to use as icons on the screen where as HERE does not. Sensis does tend to have a greater terrain detail as well but this only comes from past experience and is not confirmed on this release.

If you want the richer POIs, load both Sensis and HERE with only one or the other enabled in Map Info. Any additional POIs from the unchecked map should also appear on the screen but it might be more crowded than a free Barossa wine tasting event held in a phone box.

I've been playing with both and from my observations the Sensis version still has more terrain and other details. For example park areas in green, pathways marked etc, also unlike Here the dual carriageway local roads are also shown as dual roads so easier to identify and get your mind around complex intersections.

I much prefer the look of Sensis to the Here version however there is some functionality in Street Pilot that is only compatible with the Here version, for example around highway mode and/or exit services that I noticed does not work with Senis.

Otherwise the general road detail & currency still seems to vary on both depending on the area.

Odd, on previous versions the faint outline of city buildings were shown. On this release they are gone.

Maybe the 3D version will do this again for Etrex and Nuvi?

Sensis 2015.20 Melbourne & Sydney CBD's look identical to Sensis 2014.40, they only have a few 2D shaded building outlines compared to Here which has a huge number, but I can still see them on a 78sc.

Ok, Sensis has the 2D building outlines but no updated roads.

The HERE version has an updated road network but no 2D buildings!

...does the 3D version work on Etrex and Nuvi in automotive mode???????????
