@kaverman
Additionally, BaseCamp can see locked img files if the MS Flag is set to '0', but the same locked img won't work in your device without unlocking.
I first tried on OS X with version 0.03. I got lots of "encrypted ml: xx, orig key:xxx, new key:xxx" etc.Quote:

I copied the patched .img file to the sd card, and got the locked maps message.
I then tried fresh with version 0.03 on Windows 7 with the same results.
I have downloaded the Locked map from the first post, but that works fine in Basecamp with a nice Unlocked message.Quote:

Strange.
I also looked at the original file in "Protected Garmin File toolkit" and that claims the .img file is locked and offers to unlock the image.
Edge 1000 has protected firmware, PGFT doesn't unlock img for it even if it results unlocked in Gmaptool.
Basecamp reads locked img from device.
The latest gimgunlock + mapsigpatch is reported to work in unlocking maps for edge 1000, other previous gimgunlock doesn't work for it.
One user gave feedback and wrote he has the locked map message in edge, but the map shows up and works normally in gps after using gimgunlock+mapsigpatch.
Mac version of gimgunlock can't unlock img for edge 1000 because it doesn't remove map digital signature edge 1000 fw checks.

I tried it one more on Windows 7, but it still comes up as locked and doesn't show up as a selectable map.
I know the earliest firmwares of the Edge 1000 have less sensitivity, but I use the latest firmware and there gimgunlock doesn't help us on these new maps.
I think you are doing something wrong, or using wrong unlocker, read [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] post n 76Quote:

If nothing changed in the latest firmware 2.50, mapsigpatch should remove digital sig. successfully.
Protected firmware gives in tested devices "Cannot authenticate map" message and not "Cannot unlock map" message.
I dont really get what information I should get from the CN 2015.20 thread?
Now I even copied the file inside the SQL folder from the download to the Garmin/SQL folder, still no luck.
Yes, I get the "Cannot unlock maps" error. I use the latest firmware which is 2.57beta.
CN didn't show in edge 1000 if not patched, even if unlocked with normal gimgunlock . But if CN is unlocked and patched with gimgunlock+mapsigpatch it works fine. This is the proof that a digitally signed map correctly unlocked and patched will work fine in edge 1000 with firmware released at least before that post in CN thread: Sept. 2014.

Hello Kaverman,
I also have a Edge 1000 with the same firmware 2.57 beta.
The TOPO Sweden v4 PRO on it, and it works fine.
The unlock with the img file gimgunlock MapSigPatch., even though the .img file unlocked.
Good luck.
