All Garmin units have a factory loaded basemap and basically most any basemap will work with this map. Depending on the unit that could be one of several types, but it will always be named gmapbmap.img. There may be a version available later than your current basemap. Again depending on the unit it may be found in either the unit's Garmin or .System folder, or in very old units in an inaccessible flash region and therefore unable to be changed by the user. Modern automotive units have a routable all-world DEM basemap, older ones have a non-DEM regional basemap which includes only very basic data for the rest of the world e.g. Atlantic, Americas & Pacific all have 'WORLD MPC' as well. Dedicated Outdoor, Marine and Aviation units have specialised basemaps preloaded. See [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - scroll down to 'World and Base Maps' if you want to update your basemap.

Twice a year, probably, but Garmin really only guarantees at least one update a year: 'up to 4 times a year ' means legally they only have to do one update a year to honour that guarantee. Look forward to version 2015.20 around August/September i guess.
There is no 2015.10 nt version here ?

You don't need the 3G buildings so deselect it when the metadata loads. The torrent notes give clear instructions on use of the image which is all you need and is ~3GB, so just use a minimum 4GB SD or get the PC Install version elsewhere and do as lolypop000 suggested.

You don't have to install it. Locate the folder named City Navigator Europe NT 2014.40.gmap and place it according to your OS Version:

    In Win XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps
    in Vista, Win 7/8 - C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps

You'll be able to see it the map in BaseCamp. To unlock it, use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If you do wish to have registry entries you can create them with PGFT anyway, but not strictly necessary.

I have tried exactly as described but can't have the map show on Basecamp.

Used the locked MS version, unrar the gmap folder, run the Unlock Mapset v2 inside the gmap folder and nothing on basecamp!!!

Can someone describe in detail the process to get this map running on basecamp?
I can't figure it out and I have been running this and reading the forum for a few days now.

    Thanks
