Thank you for your work.
Please apologise, I probably missed something because I do not understand all thes files to be downloaded.
You provided severall set of .img when I expected to find only one.
I could understand the Western and easter set
What about the gmapsupp.part1.rar...part4.rar collection ?
and why the JCV ...collection are not avalaible for this collection.
Please why this first set then why the Western and Eastern ?
could you please help me to understand
Thanks again

@guiterro
Share-Byte.net has a 500MB file limit for uploads. Therefore bam-bam has split the large image files into .rar files of no more than 499MB each. From their FAQs:
Download all of the rar files into the same folder, extract the first and the rest will follow to give you one image file. There are JCVs in bam-bam's post, but unless we know your device no one can advise you which one you need. If you are asking for the reduced size 'regional' jcv they are rarely posted. The full EU will work with a shortcut map anyway. The 1.98GB file is for old devices, GMXT & GMPC which can only see .img files of less than 2GB. Have a read here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...], and in particular here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. What is the maximum file size I can upload to Share-Byte.net?
The maximum file size for non registred [sic] user and Free account is 500 MB per file.
Thanks Neil
May I ask you:
For the new dowloaded JCV files, do we need to copy and replace (delete) the one in the Garmin device memory or copy the new JCV on the SD card.
Thank you again
Always remove old jcv files or they may interfere with the operation of the later one. The jcv files will only work properly with the correct corresponding map version in any case.
Neil,
Thanks, could you please help again.
I installed the new 2014.20 Europe gmapsupp on SD card
I replaced the JCV file in the garmin device memory by the new one D3084110A.JCV.
It seams to work.
My question:
1) why during the boot device I do not see anymore the message for the new map (2014...)
This message was OK on 2013 map, is it because I deleted old JCV file ?
FYI, I clicked in the option menu the new 2014.20 map and disable the old one (still in the device)
2) how to check the new 2014 Europe map compare to a previous version. Is there a web site showing new roads or round about ?
Thanks
1) Backup and delete the old map from Nuvi, having both can create problems.
JCV are just JV images appearing in navigation, nothing to do with booting.
Backup personal data and reset Nuvi when something is weird.
2) go here:Garmin doesn't provide any changelog for new mapsCode:http://www8.garmin.com/cgi-bin/mapgen/webmap.cgi?p=199688193&u=1&v=0&cp=44AC14BEEA60CF70&z=2&x=240&y=90&w=480&h=360&d=0&rz=0&k=1&sc=1
I just came back from HOLs using my Nüvi 1490 with this new MAP to Seefeld - Tirol Austria.
By the return on the same road (Mountains road), my Garmin went crazy and couldn't find my position anymore during at least 20mins...
After 2 power off / on, it was good again!
However, with the Car's GPS (Nissan Qashai), also Garmin Map I guess, I do not have this issue.. Maps from the car are quite old than my Nüvi... Just wanted to share with you this strange behaviour.
Nüvi 1490 software version : 6.20
GPS : 4.30
all are up to date
