I tried Angelozip's files on 3490 South African Model but still no Voice command in Portuguese Brasil Language.
I have all the brazilian voices and texts loaded.
Spanish file works fine on 3490 as long as you have voices and texts loaded.
I guess 3490 firmware rejects this file. Any ideas ?
Dasilvarsa is good to know of your interest, the probability of success increases :)Quote:

I also tried some combinations of these files of the 3597 but the BR Portuguese Voice command did not work on my 3490.
Probably the Spanish file works fine on 3490 because they are native to this family of gps/firmware. I would say that if you use the spanish versions of files from 3597 also will not work.
There are interactions between srt, vpm and glx files with firmware that will probably require more than mere substitution, that is, we'll have to mess with them changing versions, parameters and maybe a few more, being quite optimistic. Particularly I think the main problem is in the compatibility of voice TTS3 of the 3597 (already noted by Neil) with complementary files and/or firmware, which seems to be quite complicated .. A radical alternative path would be able to install the firmware of 3597 in the 34xx, but it also seems pretty hard ..
This looks like a great challenge, we face it!
Unfortunately because of the different PCB P/N's of the units, flashing 3597 to 34/35xx is not just hard. It's probably damn-near impossible without high-level skills [kunix, Alex et al]. Way above my pay-grade but happy to help with testing of either that or file changes ..... ;)Quote:
