Thanks for the work done here, I have a 3590 unit, and I have read through the posts, I believe this is a newer model and will need FID to be 800, and in this case it is already. So according to the instructions, I will need to use JM to create the unl file with FID800 and PID1,0,0. Then I copy the img and unl file to garmin folder of my unit and also the garmin folder in my SD card (I even tried .system folder). but I can not see the cityxplorer info in my installed map list. Anything I did wrong ? please kindly help

Just FID 800 in kg, copy in sd/Map folder, anyname.img and anyname.unl

You have to navigate to get to the good.

yes i did, to be more detail, i did in the way below: but still can not see in the installed map list.

Find out your 10 digit gps unit id number before running Jetmouse! It has nothing to do with the serial number printed on the unit. Plug your GPS into a USB port on your computer. Once the green line finishes and the computer symbol is on the GPS screen, run the Garmin WebUpdater program. The UNIT ID will show up. Store this number into a text file so you don't have to look it up every time you want to unlock something. Call in 1390 Unit ID.txt or whatever.

Run Garmin Keygen (aka Jetmouse). Put in your 10 number Unit Id number. Select custommapset from the BOTTOM Map Product and not the top software Product. Put in 800 into the FID box and leave the rest alone. Click OK then on the Generate button on the BOTTOM. Copy the generated code and store it into a txt file named Full CXNA 2012.30.txt . Change the extension from .txt to .unl

On a SD card, create a FOLDER called Map . In that folder put
    Full CXNA 2014.10.img
    Full CXNA 2014.10.unl

All is perfect, you can check once again if unit id is ok in Garmindevice.xml in Garmin Folder in your unit.
or use infouc to see if the code is right for a map with FID 800

    The whole procedure is correct
Edit: if you have loaded the small CX and you have the same version of CNA in your nuvi it wont appear in map list but it will work

    @coastline2001
You have the full CX 2014.10 and only the MMR components need have the FID 800. All else including the NT parts still have the original FID 2920 but they are unlocked. If they were locked, there would be a capital "L" following priority of "30" for the locked parts. e.g. Houston would appears as:

    I1136F74 NT 18818609 1 1252 30 L 1 2920 HOUSTON, TEXAS

You may have it loaded with any version of CNNT other than 2014.10 provided you don't have them both selected at the same time. Check only the one you're using at the time. That info is in post 21 immediately above your initial post here.

i find it is conflicting with CNNT 2014.20 in the builtin memory, even i de-select it from installed map. the only way to do it rename the builtin map .img file. then i will be able to see the cityxplorer map listed. means, i have to have 2014.10 CNNT map to go with cityxplorer regardless full version or mms only version. will try if i can move the map to SD. so that when switch from public transit to drive, i do not have to modify the files with PC. maybe just switch the SD card.

This particular 'quirk' sometimes occurs to the rare detriment of users as you've found. Certain aspects of a deselected map can still be accessed by the unit but it's not usually a problem. Seeing it has occurred with your unit, your self-diagnosed solution is the ideal workaround. The 'quirk' can be used to advantage in China using a US/EU unit with both Chinese and English versions of the map loaded but only the Chinese one enabled. The unit will still allow for search in Pinyin on the overseas unit's Latin keyboard which may have no Chinese kb. Navigation is then done using the visible Chinese map. That also may be of particular interest to you.

This was my confusion (and remains so, really). I posted because of the requirement I have an old map in the unit and not the current North American map. I was hoping there was some version for Chicago for City Explorer that allowed you to use the most current North America map.

I'm confused why it's needed to keep an outdated (that 2014.10) in order to get the Chicago one to work. Is that indicating that the Chicago map is a little dated as well?

    Thanks!
