No, I didn't think to do that. I'll try it.
However, last night I was using this map and I am not sure if my GPS was going crazy or the map has major errors, but it was trying to re-route me on a wild geese chase for hundreds of miles.
Maybe I need to try another map, besides the one from the torrent.
Please don't think i'm anti-torrent [i'm not], but i have had a very high proportion of faulty/corrupt files via torrent compared to direct links. Best to dl MS versions or locked images from a fast non-commercial site and you have less chance of a problem. I would do exactly what you said and dl again from another source, but first try a hard reset or clear NV on your unit to see if it stops it 'going crazy'.
I'm using Garmin Mobile XT on my GPS. It has a limit for a img file of 2 GB. Is there an unl img file smaller than 2 GB here? Or should I create my own from the mapsource?
I just replied in another forum. Answer is the same.Quote:

All North American IMG files for 2014.1 are less than 2 gig
The full NA image is 1.8665771484375 GiB [2,004,221,952 Bytes] (informally GB is used instead of GiB and it's confusing but we all do it, but 1 GB simply does not equal 1 GiB)
Definitive answer, the full NA 2014.10 image is 2.004221952 GB [gigibytes] or 1.8665771484375 GiB [gibibytes]. The image size limit for GMXT/GMPC and also some older Garmin units is under 2 GiB which is the same for FAT16 file size limit, and 1 Gib is actually 1.073741824 GB. This is the very same reason why your so-called 32 GB media card/usb stick is actually shown by Windows as 29.8 GB. It's a 'mirrors & cigar smoke' trick by the hard drive & flash drive manufacturers to hoodwink us into thinking we are getting more bytes for our money.Code:File: I:/.System/gmapprom.img, length 2004221952

I finally solve my issue with jcv not working. DL the map file from post #3 (BamBam) and that works fine on all my devices. Maybe it was a corrupted file or something...
No 'maybe' about it i suspect ....lol.
Another victim of apparently fast already unlocked and ready .IMGs: result some days of tries, problems, posts and going nuts for nothing ;)Quote:

Seriously, sorry for the messed thread, it was weird that map was apparently working and nobody else complained. You can delete my posts.
Note by catymag: No need to delete, on the contrary it's a good info for other users as Neil wrote in the following post ;)
