    HELP:

I have a Garmin 50LM with U.S maps installed and lifetime updates.
Everything works fine and I get free application and map update from Garmin.

Now, I also have a SD card with Europe NTU 2013.41 map and JCV file. (thanks to this forum)

I was going to update my unit but I got a message that there isnīt enough space on my unit.

Can I somehow get this update BUT in SD card, since there is a lot of space there.
    If Yes, please how?

Garmin 50LM - need space to update software and US maps.

    My SD card:
    SD card namn: Garmin
1 folder called Garmin with one folder JCV and one file gmapsupp.img

Remove the sd from unit, run Mapupdater, when it asks for the sd , inserts it and it will find the required space

Is it possible to convert Nuvi 3490LMT North American model to European model ,so the map updates would be for Europe, and if not ,what is the best file arrangement on SD card to add CNEUNT 2013.41. without touching the .system folder in Nuvi. I have the complete set of files for 3490 from here. Thanks.

    @Rudy_P
They are identical hardware, and you cannot change your NA Life Time Maps to EU.

You can leave all the NA specific files on the unit's internal memory. Then the Map and most of the other EU files can be added on a microSD.

The most important files are the Map of Europe and the Junction View for basic navigation.

    sdcard /map/YourMapofEurope.img
    sdcard /map/Europedem.img (optional)
    sdcard /map/Europe3D.img (optional)

    sdcard /Garmin/JCV/YourJCVofEurope.JCV

See also for more detailed explanations.

Thanks for the answers to my questions. With lots of reading on this forum I am still not clear on how to load the SD card. The problem is I am in North America and I cant test all the features with Euro map. I loaded the SD card Like this: SD/garmin/ASR = 11 files
    /JCV = 1 file
    /SID = 4 files
    /CNEUNT2013.41gmap3d.img
    /CNEUNT2013.41.img
    / CNEUNTgmapdem.img

    In Nuvi /.system /SQlite/D3413080A.db

I can see the 3 Euro maps in Nuvi’s myMaps screen, and all 3 maps are working fine. The voice Command is giving the message: This feature is not available for American English. This means the ASR folder is not working. (I think)
JCV and SID I cant test. I don’t know if you can have these folders on .system and SD card simultaneously

    JCV you can test
Use simulator Where To Lisbon Set Location to Lisbon Where to Barcelona and you will see lots of JCV on Route.

I never managed to get voice command to work in Europe either.
Works for basic but not for Map search.
Try to Hard Reset to UK and use UK english
make sure that you have en_GB.srd in /.system/ASR (webupdater)

Yes. JCV is working in split screen. It means you can have one JCV folder in Nuvi’s system folder and other on SD card. The question remain For ASR and SID folders.
