Maybe you need to give more info on how much the size has increased? Your previous post makes it sound like GE has loaded both the CN and 3D maps, and that seems unlikely because in standard trim, the 2595 cannot use 3D files:
The 3D map is an ancillary map to show three dimensional outlines of city buildings, and because you've tried unsuccessfully to enable that feature previously ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) the 3D map is not required for your unit.
Edit: Rog was quicker (as usual) lol!

Does that mean i need to disable 3D feature so that Garmin Express would not download the 3D map?
The original gmapprom I downloaded was only 1.9GB on 23 March and when I reinstalled yesterday the size is now 3.8GB.
How do I check the mapset? Sorry still learning all the jargon. :-)
I am making a backup now of all gmapprom.* then load back the gmapprom.* from my March 23 backup to save on internal memory.
Here is what I get via gmaptool:
File: E:/.System/gmapprom.img, length 3945201664
Header: 12.03.2013 07:30:37, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 20.13, Ms 0, D233812AG000
Mapset: CN North America NT 2013.40 ALL
File: E:/.System/gmapbmap.img, length 51003392
Header: 14.03.2011 15:43:24, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 5.01, Ms 0, 006-F0057-01
Mapset: Worldwide Autoroute DEM Basemap,NR
File: E:/.System/gmaptz.img, length 598016
Header: 13.11.2012 09:15:36, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 11.01, Ms 0, 006-D1074-00
Mapset: Time Zone Map
For the 23 March backup:
File: D:/Orig Garmin/Garmin nüvi/.System/gmapprom.img, length 1972600832
Header: 12.03.2013 07:30:37, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 20.13, Ms 0, D233812AG000
Mapset: CN North America NT 2013.40 ALL

Very strange...
Whitch mapset in folder System in your 2595? Ex: gmapprom.img,gmapbmap.img,gmaptz.img,etc....
The original gmapprom I downloaded was only 1.9GB on 23 March and when I reinstalled yesterday the size is now 3.8GB.
CNNA 2013.40/gmapprom.img, length 1972600832
Even CNEU.img is'nt so big:3201892352
What have you installed?
Can you save Gmaptool log of this:
File: E:/.System/gmapprom.img, length 3945201664
Header: 12.03.2013 07:30:37, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 20.13, Ms 0, D233812AG000
Mapset: CN North America NT 2013.40 ALL
in a text and upload it here.
EDIT:Garmin double posted in your nuvi:1972600832 x 2=3945201664
Post please gmapprom.img Gmaptool log please, I guess is faulty or at least a weird map, I'm curious to see what GE sent to your nuvi.
GE is a weird program, better not to use it IMHO, I sent many users files to restore some units model number after using it.
Use Mapupdater. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Gmaptool info are the same than in the right one, except than data size that should be 1969867505, so file format is weird.
Better delete and redownload it IMHO.
Interesting about the double sized CNNA from that program Garmin Express, yet the individual tiles seem to have the correct size. Just another reason not to use GE imo and the weird map can be put down to yet another bug in it (still beta phase to me, i second Caty's advice not to use it).

Not explained however is the fact that the NA 3D map is shown as selectable in the unit, so if it's not present on the internal memory it must be on an inserted microSD. Do you have an sd in the unit now and when you updated the maps with GE? Check on the unit and sd for a folder named 'Map'.

In fact even if I copied the backup March 23 gmapprom.*, 3D is still selectable that is why I was able to post the screen capture here. It is really weird AFAIK.
