Thanks - it did work after about .5 hr Now that i can see the links they are IMG files. Anybody know where I can get this as a gmap file for bace camp.
I only ask because I have never been able to get an img file to work on a micro sd card. my GPS just will not use the card.

Thanks all for your fast answers.
I should have figured this out from the Unlocking comment but is there a version of this as a gmap file? I cannot get img file to work. Don't know why my GPS just does not like SD cards. I still have plenty of space in the main memory.
Sorry clearly my internet connection is really not so good. Everything takes time

Safer to put 'unofficial' unlocked maps on an sd/microsd. Telling us your unit model would help, but all nuvi models will read a map image named gmapsupp.img placed in a folder named Garmin in root of card.
Some models (e.g. 2xx/7xx series) will also read a 2nd img named gmapsup1.img in there. Later series (eg 1xxx, 2xxx, 3xxx & 30/40/50) will read multiple maps with anyname.img (e.g. CNNT_SAM_2013.30.img) in a root folder named Map (case sensitive).

I know I should be able to just put it on a card but for some reason the device will not use maps on the card. I can see them is finder, they are in the right place and called the right thing but they will not appear in the maps section of settings in the GPS. I think it is a problem with my unit. I am currently away from home and don't have my unit with me. Maby I will have a another look when I get home. Thanks for the advice Nick ........ Such a helpful community
You should:
Update the firmware.
Format as Fat32 your sd
Create the "Garmin" folder or "Map" folder (capital letter G or M): it depends on device as Neil wrote above.
Enable in your pc to see files extensions to be sure the map naming is correct.
Unlock the .img with Gimgunlock: Jetmouse shouldnt work coz FID is greater than 2200 in this .img
Name your map with the right name (it depends on device)
Copy it in sd.
If all this doesnt work, change sd or may be your nuvi is faulty
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
thank you roger, it worked fine on basecamp
best regards
I already click on like, but I still don't see the link.
