MS doesn't let you 'see any Img map file' in the way that i think you mean. It will display the map tiles from the gmap folder and allow you to select from 1 right through to all of its individual tiles (separate parts) to be compiled together into a gmapsupp.img image file to be sent to your unit. You can even combine parts of 2 or more maps this way too. You can learn how to use MapSource from this video:
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
If the gmap folder is correctly installed it will show in MS. Ensure the required map is selected in the drop-down box in the upper left. The map will display in the right side panel, and the names and sizes of any selected tiles will be shown in the left panel.

Thanks once again, now the problem is unlocking the map in mapsource. I tried downloading another version of the Mapsource but it seems all the links are DEAD. Please what's the way out. Can i get a link to a patch for my mapsource or another link for a complete download of mapsource or better yet, an img SSA map file to save me the trouble. Kindly assist.

Read the post and used the Unlock Mapsource Directory. Surprisingly however, after the unlock procedure and running mapsource, NOTHING comes up. It doesn't even give me a prompt about unlocking a map or show me any maps like that of Post21 by Neil. Nothing in the drop-down box!

What is your OS and where have you placed the gmap folder?

If you're running Windows, MS will see it if you've got it placed like this:
    XP, in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps
    Vista & Win7/8, in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps
It will display it even if you haven't unlocked it, you just can't select tiles if it's still locked.

I'm using win8 and i placed it in the folder link you provided in your post. If you recall i told you at a point mapsource prompted me to unlock the map. This, i believe would only be possible if the gmap folder is placed in the right place. Amazingly also, i placed an unlocked gmap folder (same one) back in the location and mapsource prompted me to unlock!! So, is there anything wrong with the unlocking process? Thanks for all your assists and please see me through.

@Roger1109, why did you say bye bye, cos you were sure it was going to work or what. Well it DID!!!!!! The whole map's there for me. Thanks a lot for the assist. So, is there a way to save the map as a .img file to my HDD or do i only have the option to send to device after which i can copy to my PC. Thanks to Neil and Catymag for being there all the time and especially for not getting tired of my numerous questions. You guys are geniuses in what you do and are really FAMILY. Keep up the good work.

To send the img to any drive you must patch Mapsource.
