    Hi,
    I am new here but for the past few days I have learned a lot on your very explanatory site. I had already some good training on the Nuvi 710 which still is quite a good and versatile unit.
    Kindly advise where to get tutorial regarding the JCV ARD, 3D etc files because I have tried to find them on my nuvi 3590 but did not manage. The nuvi is still in original conditions apart from the software upgrade and map upgrade to SA 2013.30. But it did not display any JCV or else files even before the upgrade. Thanks a lot in advance.

    For these files paths look at
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    and
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    or at your GarminDevice.xml in your device Garmin folder.

    @rob61
    Your South-African purchased 3590 should display Junction Views,Speed Limits, 3d buildings & 3D Terrain out of the box.
    You must only have City Navigator Maps selected.
    If you have Garmap or T4A selected you will lose Junction Views and Speed Limits.
    If your unit is not displaying Junction Views with City Navigator Map you need to contact GSA.
    To Test Simulate a route from OR Tambo International to Durban and you should see at least 5 or 6 Junction Views including one BirdsEyeView JV.
    Make sure you have all other Maps except City Navigator De-selected and do a full power down of the unit.

    Hi Dasilvarsa. Thanks but I have not touched the unit yet apart from updating it since it is included in the price I paid for that. I guess if, ath right time, I will need to update it I will follow the threads that Catymag has sent on my first post. I have indeed found the JCV etc files from the .system hidden file. As for the description of the directory ok.
    Correct me if I am wrong: when I download a Garmap I also need to download the additional JCV ARS etc files so I do not lose anything such as speed limits and junctions. I am not in SA but in Zambia and will manage to check what you said only when I am there. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All of You.

    You can simulate a route in Nuvi (Settings/ Navigation/GPS Simulator) Browse the map,put your position on map in SA, choose a destination and simulate it to get the jcv.

    Garmap SSA does not have any additional functions or files. Only has one file .img

    Garmap SSA is an excellent Map for Navigation however it does not contain Speed Limits, Junction Views, 3D buildings, Voice Command or any other Premium Functions.
