This dowload contains the complete IMG directory from a Garmin LifeTime update. The IMG directory (strange choice of naming done by Garmin) actually contains BaseCamp installer and the "City Navigator North America NT 2013.20.gmap" sub directory.

Warning: Download from bam-bam on zippyshare has corupted files! 0464H4HW.ASR, D3398050A.SID 20% is empty, corrupted and file D3406050A.SID is 100% empty, has corect file size but inside has zero data! Maybe more files is corupted, if some files corrupted in mapsource installation you find this error only in using or compiling map with crashing mapsource or device, i dont check all, Garmin use md5 check only after download over updater, but if someone do something not usual like packing files without waiting to finish download. Not speed download is sometime good, better is working source ;)Quote:

I am sorry, I am not familar with magnet torrents. Only standard torrents that have a link associated with them. I am using Utorrent. NM. Something seems to be happening. I had to go add torrent from URL and it seems to get the info. Thanks!
I downloaded gmap folder from bam-bam's ,it's in my Mapsource and I tested MS compiled full map .img in my nuvi: it works fine.Quote:

maybe yes, i don't test all files, but D3406050A.SID 100% corrupted, 0464H4HW.ASR, D3398050A.SID 20% corrupted.
Try it yourself, easy way use total commander, and on file use F3 to view what is inside file. On file D3406050A.SID has all zero

I have to say that like catymag, i cannot understand a preoccupation with using torrents when there are other safer options available that are just as quick or even quicker. I'm sure it is simply the comfort of using familiar methods, just like you are familiar with using 'normal' torrents but not magnets. If your torrent dl doesn't workout, try Caty's suggestion and use bam-bam's or Ballebar's ZippyShare files, you won't be disappointed. BTW, upgrading your uTorrent program to the latest version will probably sort out your problems with magnets. ;)
For the uninitiated, Magnet links effectively decentralize torrent downloads. Magnet links can be created by anyone having the file in question, do not require a central host to store the link and do not require a server to track data transfers between clients. Pirate Bay made the switch wholesale some time ago, in part because they were raided simply for having the .torrent links on their servers and wanted to avoid that issue.
Magnet links however do not mean downloading torrents are safer than before. IP addresses can still be seen in download clients, and unscrupulous corporations such as the RIAA and MPAA will use that information to prosecute. Many sites now recommend using a specialized proxy for downloads to mask the IP. That alone should be enough to recommend using sites like Zippyshare when possible.

It's not a question of being comfortable with the torrents. I can see how one could come to that erroneous conclusion though. With torrents unlike with the filesharing sites that is extensively used here, you have to obtain each individual file, wait, and wait a very long time to download that one file. There is a limit to how often you can download any file from their site. You then have to [rinse] and repeat the process until you obtain every single file that is required. It is a very tedious and time consuming process limited by the filesharing sites that is is hosting the files. This is not the case with torrents. You find what you want, all the files that are needed are encapsulated in that torrent. No fuss, no mess. It's simple, and effective.Quote:

As far as security goes, many third party apps like Peerblock will help prevent your info from being released and captured by the RIAA and MPAA. if one wants complete anonymity, then we all should invest in a usenet (binary) service where all files would be uploaded as binaries to usenet groups where the speeds would be phenomenal and retention period can exceed over 2 years. For maps, that would be sufficient and I definitely would invest in that service which could cost as little as $6 USD a month. In fact, that's probably the best way to go because sites like megaupload and filesonic (and soon Zippyshare) will be subject to crakcdowns.
