    OK, I downloaded the locked and unlocked img files. Could someone please direct me to a usefull description on how to install the img files on my Garmin Oregon. (preferable via MapSource since I'm familiar with that) In the past I've always used the country maps installers to install the country maps on my PC and used MapSource to transfer the selection of maps to my GPS device. I'm sorry for asking such a noob question but I couldn't immediately find a usefull guide. I'm sure it is here somewhere but I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the information. Thanks in advance for the guidance...

    Why ?
    With Basecamp, you can read the .img file without installing map in Mapsource.

    I read post #6. Converted version does not interest me becouse it lacks some features.

    @orsza12

    I read this on garmin site

    AdriaTOPO XL is availible on SD/microSD card. For exploring the map on PC you can use free Garmin´s application BaseCamp. You can download BaseCamp on Garmin web site. Start BaseCamp and insert your SD/microSD card into card reader or connect GPS with inserted SD/microSD card with your PC.

    So there is no mapsource version to purchase

    @comitato

    I see the difference between the maps in XL map are places that are orange in color but I do not know what that means in detail
