@rawadelm
Read [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] and other interesting and informative stuff from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...], particularly [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]. If not sure, just dw an unlocked image from Post #1 or 2 and place on sd card in Garmin folder named as gmapsupp.img. That will work in any Nuvi. (Helps if we know what you have, but read up to find out other ways to do it with your unit before posting again). ;)
hi @neil please help me i don't understand! I want to install maps gmapprom in my nuvi 1690
OK, best you do the reading I suggested anyway. However, yes you can put the image on your 1690 named as gmapprom.img in your .system (hidden) folder. Be aware that if you have a map of the same name then it will be overwriten by it. There are other names you can use on the unit both in .system folder, and in a separate root folder named Map you can use anyname.img, eg CNNT_MENA_2013-20.img for instance and have multiple maps. You can also have the Map folder in the sd for your 1690. Read all the Tutorials to learn how to see hidden folders in Windows and get info on map naming conventions in both the unit and microSD card. The reason i suggested using the card is if any 'unofficial' unlocked map causes problems to the unit, you can just remove it and the unit will recover and function normally. Read, re-read and re-re-read everything and you will understand.
Very good maps. I finish of proving them in Morocco and they work perfectly so much in cities as roads. Só I have seen a very local road that was not coming in the map but I think that it was a former track newly asfaltada. The above mentioned thing very good maps.
