Yes, when I modify Topo Austria v3 (for instance) with FIU I loose the SQL information in the img header.
However, using Gimgunlock preserves that information.
Its the same with Topo France v3 Pro, and probably with TransAlpin 2012 Pro which I have not tested yet.
It's not the SQL information, but .img product number
Example :
read qwik's thread linked above in my postCode:/gmapprom.img, length 1747648512
Header: 09.05.2012 18:48:09, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 20.13, Ms 0, D233809AG000
Mapset: CN North America NT 2013.10 ALL
fat: 1000h - 1200h - 28000h, block 32768
maps: 167, sub-files 168
Funny solution :-) But how can we use this information?Quote:

and sorry, I forgot:
why does gimgunlock preserves some SQL info while FIU removes it? At least for Austria v3 and Topo France does this mean that the unlocked images will work or not.
And I didn't find a Transalpin 2012 so far with embedded SQL info, so all unlocked Transalpin 2012 images have no working trail search.
I am getting closer to figuring out what is going on (and I will write a report - please be patient).Quote:

So far, I know how to enable searching for 'Named Trails' in BaseCamp 3.3.3 for Topo Austria v3 (locked IMG file).
(The following header information for the IMG files is from GMapTool.)
Header: 11.06.2012 13:38:32, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 3.00, Ms 0, 010-D1199-00
Mapset: Topo Österreich v3
Please note the name of the 010-D1199-00.db file in the header.
For TransAlpin 2012 Pro it is not working (it may have to do with the missing name of the 010-D1160-00.db file in the header).
Header: 25.05.2012 21:58:23, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 3.00, Ms 0
Mapset: TransAlpin 2012 Pro
The question now is:
Why is the name of the 010-D1160-00.db file in the header of TransAlpin 2012 Pro missing in my IMG file?
Is it because my file (I am quite sure I downloaded it from the Zippyshare links in catymag's post #2) is NOT an original locked IMG file?
If so, does anyone have an original locked IMG file of TransAlpin 2012 Pro (or know how to get one)?
Please check the header information of your TransAlpin 2012 Pro IMG file with GMapTool (to see if the name of the 010-D1160-00.db file in the header is missing or not).
It would be nice to solve this problem.
I can confirm all info in this message. And as I already stated, have no locked/unlocked image of Transalpin 2012 with '010-D1160-00.db' in the header.Quote:

Do you have an original locked IMG file of TransAlpin 2012 Pro (or know how to get one), or the original locked MapSource version of TransAlpin 2012 Pro?Quote:

(So far, I only know how to make it work with the original locked IMG files or the original locked MapSource versions.)
Please check the header information of your TransAlpin 2012 Pro IMG file(s) with GMapTool (to see if the name of the 010-D1160-00.db file in the header is missing or not).

The NamedTrails SQLite DB file is named as the part number for the map.
TransAlpin 2012 Pro (Download) with part number 010-D1160-00 is using SQLite file 010-D1106-00.db.

Features of gimgunlock:Quote:

* Direct Modification - unlike other tools which use GMapTool to split an image file, unlock each tile, then join all tiles; this tool unlocks all tiles in an image file directly without splitting and joining. Therefore, you should back up your original map first before running this tool.
* Super fast speed - The 1st result of direct modification is super fast unlocking. For example, a 2.3 GB image file can be unlocked in less than 4 seconds.
* Zero disk space - The 2nd result of direct modification is that no intermediate disk space is required. In fact, you can unlock a big image file on a SD card or USB connected GPS device directly and quickly.
* Intact header - The 3rd result of direct modification is that the original header of the image file is preserverd. Thus, timestamps, version number, Mapset name, etc. remain the same.
etc as written in gingunlock thread.
Are not SQL infos, but .img infos as said before and as explained by Ballebar aboveQuote:

Coz personal unlock codes were removed with pietu's tool: it contains GMT.exe old version.Quote:
